Here are many sugestion in order to improve the gameplay and interface in Fonline, enjoy :

Use yellow attack cursors (fa/doc) on a hex :

Allow players to clic on a covered hex, the character will first run to this place and use his FA/Doc.

FOV/Character follow attack cursor :

When you push A/Q you switch to attack mod, i purpose that your fov automaticaly follow the cursor and make automaticaly turn your character.

Must fix the refresh of FOV who didn't works if you don't move.

Caps in hands can be use while trading :

It's amazing you have caps in hand but you can't pay !  :P

Having the same choice to sort object in lock that when you make a trade :

Sort by weapons, ammo ....

Stop all action shortcut :

You can stop you char when running for example

Lock unlock walk/run with left caps :

Maybe better than being forced to old this cap everytimes

Force shoot :

It can allow you to shoot everywhere can usefull for grenades/launchers and RP (shoot at a bluesuit feet to make them run ^^)

Shortcut to follow the leader :

Juste press "F" when the box shows

Allow mousewheel zoom :

Allow to players who have a mousewheel to use it in order to zomm in/out, and still allow the "W" for those who havn't wheel.

Possibility to choose the amout of items during craft :

Like when you take caps or munitions ... easy  :D

Already suggested a billion times; Devs aren't against it but it requires engine changes which would need Cvet to edit the Fix-boy.Sounds good

Drop All in lockers :

Just like there's an option to take all from lockers, there should be a 'Drop All' command in your inventory. [...]

Select that you want to doc :

When you have a crippled eye and a crippled leg it could be good to choose !


When you use Doc it has equal chance to heal all body parts at the same time

Run when you want to make an action :

- Updated the main FOnline client config tool. It includes enabling autorun mode.

But i don't found how it works, the problem is that you only can choose alway run or alway walk, i think Lock unlock walk/run with a key should be better[/s]

Have a different colors for text logs concerning players like when your are hit or when you hit a player or a NPC :

example :

molerat was hit for ......
molerat was hit for ......
you have been hit .....
molerat was hit for ......
molerat was hit for ......
molerat was criticaly hit .....

And actualy i prefer => http://fodev.net/forum/index.php?topic=9691.0 could be great this kind of interface get implemented for everyone

It could reduce use of autoclickers ....

Just to reload your weapon !

One slot for quick use :

One slot in your inventory corresponding to a shortcut in game (here you can put stimpacks or drugs or other stuff)

Maybe display critical hits in different colour too? Like

You have been hit for 14 hit points.
You have been hit for 23 hit points.
You have been critically hit for 70 hit points and knocked down.
You have been hit for 10 hit points.

It will make too much colors but why not !

So think about maybe an other color for slaves/mercs

Colored messages only for players actions. More colors in log will make it more like christmas tree, than readable document. Also you can easily distinguish critical hits because: they either deal many, many points of damage or they're longer than normal message.

Ok but only if you see it only in the saved log and not IG log, because it would make too big messages.

Maybe have it an option in the configuration to set your own colors. That way if I want them all green I can set it so, or if I want my crits to be red and everything else green I have that choice.

Forcing options only upsets players, people like choice.

sure people like choice but i think they prefere a simple interface, during a big PVP fight there is no way to know how efficient you are because you can't found your hits in the logs !

I think just a color for your action and eventualy an other for your merc action can be great and very simple to make !

example : blue for your action and yellow for followers actions, it make 4 colors in logs (green,red,yellow,blue) it's not a fag rainbow and i think it will be great !

Sounds good, but once again either it was Solar or Izual said something about an auto-aim function or something like it actually being implemented in the future.

Yes yes yes yes...  Yes.

All very good suggestions although minor would be very helpful in general micromanagement of the game.

BUT, about the drop all function, you could easily (would you consider this:) grief by running off drop all and go back and die and the pker will have to hunt down your quick stashed stuff.

I think that adding shortcuts or action slots for using items in inventory would make the interface more comfortable also.

It's MMORPG now ...

So (considering that real-time is always ON) following things must be added:
-Shortcuts to boosters (drugs\healing things used by pressing 1 key)
-Shortcuts to the skills (besides 1-8)-- aim shortcuts and weapon-chnge-shurtcuts(means take-some-weapon-from-inventory-and-shoot-him-shortcut)
-Always-run mode
-Some other quick-use-some-stuff shortcuts

OR
Keep It Simple, Stupid (just let it be like in fallout 2 -- turn-based)... But... That's not accceptable for good-amount-of-players-RPG-game.

Shortcuts to booster are a good idea because of AP, no way to take 10 stimpack in 3s like in Diablo II :p

Shortcuts to siklls ? Already in game no ?

AIM shortcuts are suggested !

Alway run ? Just press the MAJ key !

Other shortcuts.. yes but ?

And please no borring turn based ... sry sander :p

and? i see no problem in making a PK look for the stuff since he killed u... just think of it like  "cops" when they throw theyr guns away in the chase

Reply to the very first post:
If you haven't noticed yet, all messages are followed(this word must be replaced with the word, meaning "befored") with a circle (middot)...
And this symbol has a colour:
Bright green - You did smth to smbd
Dull green - smbd did smth to someone.
Red - smbd did smth bad to you.

So i don't see any sense in 'parroting' message log with colours.
Maybe it will be helpful for some players to add customisation like adding text file, that describes in which colour should exact type of message be displayed, but...
I think current system is good enough.

Would be great if 2238 devs say which interface changes they can make and are willing to make. It starts to look to me like 2238 devs can make changes only to world but not to interface.

I don't know if devs will read or heard about this post but as a beta tester i have to tell this kind of things.

Acctual interface is complicated and as not be created for a MMO, most of my propositions will be, i think approved by most of the wastlanders ans make it a little less harsh ^^

It's not just for Follow button there are many other suggestions in first post (and i think shortcut to follow is good but some are more important)

Sorry my mistake... I thought I missed one of later posted suggestion in Your main post. It's why I thought every next idea is not in the first post but they are scattered in whole thread.

I could suggest:
On the WM, when encounter window appears with decision of TB, RL and avoiding combat. You can choose one of these and every next encounter can be avoided or entered just by pressing enter button. Last made decision would be remembered.

and

Dividing Your ammo and caps into smaller groups in Your backpack. When You have 200 shotgun shells You are dividing them into two groups, 100 stays in backpack for trade and the other 100 gets in your hand so they can't be stolen.

Sounds cool but i think this one must be done before because of "engine changes" needed (but i don't rly know about this kind of stuff)

although the pool is already locked i would vote yes

also one addition

add line to heal also, the same way you do to ammo you should also be allow to do it with health along with weapon det

Yes, Scoped interface for everybody or for nobody!

Current standard fallout interface is not made for fast-click combat system.

Other ideas in this thread are also nice polishing out touches. Most of those fixes just should be there in my opinion.

Sounds good.

But keep in mind that "Z" works not only with wheel, but with PageUp/PageDown too; hotkey alone should stay as alternative for people with 10-years-old mouses ;)

What if my mouse don't contains thum wheel?
Z + pg up or pg down    makes sense so no deleteing Z for zoom

A little related, I'd love if FOV could be displayed using fog of war (eg. shadowing areas out of it), not only because graphicaly it'd be much superior than current lines, but also would be some love to colorblind people.
