Title: Tagging requires acceptance in context window
Post by: kraskish on May 01, 2010, 04:07:52 am
It came into my mind that tent robbers could easily be fought by a simple context window of acceptance/dismiss of the tag on you. A message appears

"A wastelander "xxx" wants to follow you. Do you accept?"
                         YES           NO

Short and would save a lot of nerves of busy people/crafters and in general. It would be easy to implement (I guess) and it doesnt impede normal gameplay.

Very easy when a leader take a 10 people group...

people have already suggested this.

and you cant look for a second -bright green- name while you're waiting for the world map to load?

but personally, i don't like making to money suggestions myself, not untill i learn codding stuff and kiss enough arse to get the source code for FOnline, than i can say they're doing something wrong and have a chance of being right.

cheers.

I think it's hardcoded in the engine, so it's not that easy just to add another windwo for some stuff.
But yes, it would be good to have stuff like this. Right now, it's just not top priority.

Crazy is right. This is not good idea coz if i have 10 teammates i will need to hit *yes* button 10 times that's really nasty when u need to hurry up.

I will just start to tag my enemy in fights so that they need to click on the pop-up first while I shoot at them.

what about tags having some range other than your field of view? possible?

I know its a bit troublesome for 10 players, but the windows would stack as they do now so 10 clicks in 1 second would be possible

Yea, need to boost HtH characters, they will distract victims, and while they will see that damned window, HtH will punch them.

Ok, forget the in-map solution and think about going to the worldmap option.

Once tagged you need to confirm YES/NO like in encounter window on the worldmap (request either stacking or made together "do you wish "xxx", "xxx" to join, but Id be rather for the stacking option because the groups would need to come back to the map in the event of some unwanted traveler, its already there so no problem with implementing and fighting in RT. Also Im sure not everyone is going along with 10 friends :> as a matter of fact, just people in gangs prevail in this forum Im sure more than a half of the people play without a faction

I havent been robbed even once. But think quentin, does LAG exist in Fonline? yes, it does and sometimes you have tent close to the city you go out. This is not wise, but makes the life easier, unlike this tag abuse

Neither have i. But think, kraskish, is it really so neccecary to make the devs create a feature that will fix the stupidity of some people? Also, if it lags that much, well then, try spawning in the wasteland before you go in tent. Oh no wait, that takes 10 seconds. Too much time.

Then build it further from NCR? Having a tent so close is asking for trouble. Also check your follower list.

My only (personal) problem is that I sometimes mistake the similar buttons "give leadership" and "throw out" :D they're so similar

Having to accept to be followed? nah. I like it the way it is now. Yes I got tent-robbed once and after that I just simply check the fucking party list when I go out from towns. ITS NOT THAT HARD.

u can still leave party even if you gave the leader to tent robber, man
