Title: Defense: Lifegiver 2 or Toughness 2? Dodger?

+28 hp?

or 5% NORMAL DR, +2 dmg threshold?

IMO, second lifegiver might be better. Toughness wouldn't apply to damage from rocket launchers, energy weapons, flamethrowers which are all heavily used in the game.

And what about dodger? Think it's worth it? Would 5 more AC help evade more bullets from burst?
Keep in mind 5 AC is a big number because most armor will have 15-25 AC.

nope, whatever you do, do not take dodger, people concentrate on their combat skills, so a -5% to their CTH doesn't make any difference whatsoever since they make up for it with that 200% in their skillz

If its all about rank 2 lifegiver or rank 2 toughness (i mean, if you already got life 1 and tough 1), i vote definately toughness.

Yeah AC is a joke in this game, toughness is probably a better choice than 20 hp.

go with toughness, it really makes a sour day for minigunners in combat, that 5% and 2 threshold really make a bigger difference than 28 hp

2 dr is a lot, the formula is damage -DR/ %reduction, so if a minigun bullet is 7-11 all of a sudden its 5-9. Stacking with armour it adds up to a lot of saved hp.

It reduces damage of each bullet. Yes, crit applies for each bullet.

So more criticals perk for a burst guy is a very good thing then? :D

Yes ! With critical shots with miniguns you'll be able to make around 700-800 dmg on a bluesuit with JHP ammo.

Poor bluesuiter, now he'll have -670 or -770 HP when die. He'll create topic at forum that BG is overpowered and then quit the game.

With really good armor and 2x Toughness you are almost minigun burst immune :P

It goes sorta like this:

Be a BG, Energy, and if small guns, be a sniper otherwise youll be outgunned in pvp.

And small guns can be bursters, at least to gang miners or not-well-armored players.

slaver with 5 guys with rippers works wonders AND you don't even have to be paying attention. Also they loot for you.

Exp gain rate should be much higher to try them all, I should go whine somewhere at the forum about it

unless they bypass the armour, which they do more often now.
