Title: Sad wife quest dialogue
Post by: Horatio on September 05, 2012, 11:19:42 pm
This might have become another useless suggestion that wont get implemented anyway, but i'd like to be able to give a few words of consolation to the sad wife in Hub, when the quest is done.

Something like "i'm not the first one to tell you this, right? He would not want to see you unhappy, maybe you should try to make your peace with him."

Now i wonder who will get in honor of first cynical comment.

Its sounds like a nice idea and not even necessary need a lot of scripting since I think that changing the end dialog choice to this would be an ok thing and this would only take changing the dialog.

When I created the quest / wrote the dialog, I wanted to add a dialog option, where you could bluff to her and say the husband is on a runaway with a different girl. This would result in the sad wife to get angry and this then would (could) result in the player having sex with her (with teleport to a different room map). But it never happened, because I thought it is too cruel. Instead I wrote the warehouse quest.

/Inside info nobody asked for. Just saying.

I think the quest was fine so far, because it played the strings of humanity in some of us and that is by far better than LOLSORANDUM MUTANT RAEP. Because cruelty can be subtle.

Instead I wrote the warehouse quest.

Please, could you be more specific about this quest? Where does it start?

To Ron: i agree - when i do this quest, it seems to end too quickly, like there should be something more you could do for her in the consoling department (albeit NOT Lexx's way).

To Lexx: you have die-hard fans here - we love to hear that kind of inside info. Maybe that's one thing that helps define who is a die-hard fan; we're the ones who love hearing more details from the devs. More please!

Boneyard, the scavenger area / base. You are hired to deliver a letter.

I love the idea of adding more dialogue options to this quest. Lexx, your original idea sounds really good imho, and it could also have an "opposite", less cruel option, even though there is no karma system in 2238.

Don't know. But if there is a CH (or any other SPECIAL) requirement, shouldn't it be checked first when taking the quest?

There are skill and stat checks, but none of them make it impossible to end the quest. It will end in one or the other way in any case.

Hehe, when you speak to the punk after the quest, you could:

Your text porn is horribly written and uses words in the wrong context.

I wonder if a properly timed bomb would kill the punks in the rape quest.

Am I confusing things?

I think it will need more than one. But possible, yes.
