You naughty little rogue! I knew you can't stay away from those hotels!
-
did they raid the mini bar aswell? :'(

Well, VSB changed tactics. Our pure PvP chars now taged lockpick, because we want .. i dont know.. in.. i dont know where .. with.. dont know.. ehm.. My stupid reaction to stupid text...
-
The only way someone's possesion may be robbed in room:
a) doors/locker left opened
b) robber goes there within few minutes (before they get closed automatically)
c) robber gets out before door closes

if locker is open, and i want to look in, i will first close the locker and then is locker locked and i cant get in..

Does not apply on bookshelf. Anyway this is a fact and its pretty annoying when 4 people are looting the same locker and they have to always close/open it. Also only 1 is able to actually loot it at a time and that is even more annoying. Maybe let lockers close themselves automatically after 30 secs of inactivity and when they are opened everyone can loot them without close/opening them

I was unable to get in bookshelf in open hotel room.. It wrote me that i am not owner of that..

HA! That proves you were at the crime scene mister! Handcuff him Watson...
Back to topic: That makes hotel rooms the most secured place in towns. And since they can't be looted only explanation for item disappearing would be lack of rent payment.
-
Yes, i had the intetion, i tried i fail.. But it is still crime. I must be punished by wasteland law. But i have no obligation to pay back those armors, because i did not take it.. :)

I thought that that isnt posible aswel so i wrote gm and here is what GM Rusty said. Aperantly both hotel room door and locker are unlockable and it isnt a bug he tried it himself and he confirmed the locker has been unlocked and emptied !
And im not just acusing a person without seeing it with my own eyes i was inside and got shot aswel.Aperantly the saying that lockers and doors of hotel are not lockpickale is false=

Oh come on people, 'lockpick' is enough useless now, don't make it second 'gambling' :-\
-
To be honest. If players don't close their hotel room doors, it's their own fault.

So then presuming hotel room is closed and locker is locked are players suposed to be able to lockpick it or not?
Cause the GM that responded yesterday said they were and its working as intended its not a bug !
-
Due to changes in the items storage system there, the doors/containers were lockpickable, but items were safe (unless someone left it opened, because before they auto-close the items were vulnerable).
Upcoming fix will disable lockpick there, because it's currently not feasible (again, due to that storage method).

So... any other ideas for lockpick? Or we just throw that skill where sneak and gambling already are?

Nah, it will be only disabled temporarily to avoid such confusion like now. In fact, rooms are good opportunity for lockpicking, as it may work by not letting you to fetch all items when you lockpick container. So that thieves won't render it useless (it can't be less useful than tents for now, cause you pay for it. And tents are still 100% secure).
-
Allow stuff to be stolen from a hotel room and they are 100% useless, even if they were free

Unless you could booby trap the door tactics style.
-
Then one tries to break in, asplodes, respawns, comes back and wins, because the trap is asplodet already.

mercs in hotel room :> Its Hotel administrators responsibility to prevent his hotel from criminals, so he could place mercs that shoot when others try to lock pick or something :>

Actually if a locker is allready opened all you need is to use steal on it.

This is when things go messy, and every sane dev thinks 'screw that, let's just make it non-lockpickable' ;)
-
it sounds like a solution :D
-
Also, Hotel rooms are meant to be a nice easy, cheap option. Then forcing every newb who wants to keep their sledgehammer safe to buy mercs to guard it also defeats the point totally. (especially as gangs can just tour the hotel rooms and take out an individuals mercs easily)
