I tink solar sed thet they will ner HH and i dont get why?
HH is only good vs 1 enemy if 2 you aliwies lose
Second HH can be counterd if enemy picks in your feace
So if they nerf it to 50% max then if i enemy hass in your feace i have chance of 25% so it is pointles then?
-
Solar said it will be nerfed in a way that will force you to wear unarmed weapons (powerfists/MPF) to make it as effective as now.
Right now it's bad because you can quite easily kill someone without risking a single bottle cap.

You honestly don't get why?
The reason is that you can immobilize another player until he dies. It's very bad game design.
-
I've learned that nothing is overpowered if it can be countered.
Heavy Handed can be countered easly.
-
I dont suppose though that we realise that HH or not the other guy can run away and in RT there is no way to catch him...
-
I just recently made a Hand to Hand character. It's soo fun :D

Fun is the right word. Lots of people (including whiners and forum trolls) tend to forget this game should be about fun.
-
It's not particularly fun to be immobilized. Fun means to be able to control your character and do stuff.
-
It's not particularly fun to be immobilized.
it can only be done by 1v1 and it can be easy couterd
It's not particularly fun to heve to run to you while you kill me from 20 hex whit 1 ctirical or sneek burst or right shoting :(

So what are you actually saying?
To "counter" HH you have to run. I wouldn't say it's countering it because you have to do it or you die. It doesn't kill the enemy character, but makes him chase you until you reach the grid. It's called escaping rather than countering. I wouldn't call this particularly fun either. Why don't we put back the heavy handed npcs we had in the beginning of this session due to accident because it's so fun and easy to counter according to you.
What comes to critical bursts, sneaks and whatever they aren't even related to the whole issue. Your job is to explain why immobilizing is a good feature in your opinion, not derail the issue by representing other stuff that isn't fun according to you.

That is reasonable, although I would say make sure rocks don't give this capability. These are ridiculous when a level 2 bluesuit can take out a level 24 with full gear just by punching him.

you can counter HH whit in your feace perk and if i miss and i will you can shoot me whit burst from point black instant death to me and it is alwies coutred when atacking 1v2 i cant knock 2 people same time
-
Make Unarmed with 180 without unarmed weapons use a AP less, then Heavy Handed nerfing wouldn't be that painful.
-

So if I meet some HH dude in redding mine I can counter him by quickly making a new character, levelling him until I get in your face, travelling to redding mine and coming to fight the unarmed dude. All that in about 3 seconds. Sounds quite hard to pull off.
It's completely random whether you get the onehex burst or if the puncher gets his punch through first. And if he does, it means death to the burster unless burster has more ap.
Ofcourse 2 players defeat one by default.
But still: why in your opinion immobilizing an enemy is good feature?
-
if your hero hes in your feace perk i can miss and you get chance to kill me what you want thet i do 1 dmg and have 100 crit feliurs so you heppy
-
If you can't kill a bluesuit before he gets within one hex of you you are a terrible player. I have a non HH unarmed crit build and I only use it for pve since even with 290 health I'll die going up against anyone armed if they spot me more than 10 hexes away.
-
True.
If HH gets into point blank, it's only your fault.
-
my fault b/c I didnt run away :-\
-
Just change knock down to knockback and it will be cool
-
my fault b/c I didnt run away :-\
Your fault because you didn't kill him when he was away :\ Then, if you fail(which should be rare) you can just run... So still it's harder to kill someone with HH.
I'm going to tell you something. People think HH is overpowered because before implementing it, unarmed characters were garbage. Now, they are PLAYABLE. When something that was garbage previously is made playable, then people think it's overpowered because they were used to it being shit... It works the other way as well. When something is truly overpowered and gets nerfed into the state of being balanced, people think it's garbage.

dude what the hell are u talking about, if u talk about biggunners with lsw or m60 then alright, but what if i have a minigun or avenger and ap ammo or any other leveled char that is not a powerbuild? u have no chance vs a bluesuit unless u run away, and u call it playable? You use the troll build cuz its fun to troll ( when u kill someone) and its cheap ( free ) = free loot when u get and knockdown someone, dont even wanna talk about HTH trolls behind doors, mines and other places if they use instarun u are as good as dead against those trolls
-
Well... I always got a question about heavy handed, but I was too shy to ask it ;)
Alrighty... Tell me, why devs have not given HH knock down bonus to melee as well?

Melee weapons will have their own effects added at some point. (http://fodev.net/forum/index.php/topic,22183.msg183774.html#msg183774)
-
Like what? Maybe like that "fly-back" effect, which is a great help for enemy?
The only advantage that I've seen in melee is no huge strenght requirement.
Yes, I know.. I know it.. one day it may be buffed... But it ain't sure...
-
heavy handed is powerful now not overpowered, dont make unarmed as shit as it was before :) Cant you be happy if people chose several ways to play? always same old butthurt snipers whine all over the place :)
-
Heavy handed gives you a chance to kill 1v1 at 1 hex. If there are 2 of them you are screwed because you don't have crit damage so it takes many hits to kill someone. If you have a burst weapon you can 1 shot any bluesuit at 1 hex, how is 1 shot kill less cheap than this? Most times i get blown to pieces by gunfire before the screen loads, in a game where the guy who attacks first usually wins its ridiculous to complain about players with the least amount of range.

Indeed, that's what I'm thinking. You can repeat that over and over, but they still won't understand how easy it is to beat a HH. Well, I guess some people just need to learn how to play.
Personally I don't have a HH char, but I've never got beaten by one, unless he had friends helping him :F
-
how many hp does a normal hth char have? 250 ? more ? until he gets to you, u have max 2 bursts, or shoots as sniper. U cannot recharge ap b/c the death is coming, unless u want to gamble and try to 1hex burst him. What if he hits u first with all the shitty latency ? Its a coin flip while he risks nothing and u have all ur expensive stuff, so cut off this bullshit. When u crit burst or snipe the troll, all u loot is his blue pajama and hes back in 2 min ...
-
It won't be as bad if both stonewall and quick recovery are made to work against it.
-
To fix HH keep the 50% nerf but add a random going up to the original value from the nerf value (and the random only applies on successful Luck roll), and make it so your respawn is regular amount minus the number of armor class from armor you were wearing at time of death (not perks/agility/traits, and you still get full-looted), plus one minute if in bluesuit.
Gamey, yes.
Oh, and make Stonewall work in addition to Quick Recovery.
(Not stacked, just both applied)
