So i was reading about silent death perk, and i was like "wow this perk is awesome, now i can make a knife sneaker and stab people in the back whit this"
So i begin leveling up, and WTFFFFFFFFFCK? THEY SEE ME AT 2-3 HEX FROM BEHIND? HOW THA FACK IM GOING TO STAB PEOPLE IN THE BACK IF THEY SEE ME? THIS IS RETARDED!!
SD bursters are SO OP AND MELEE IS SHIT!
I CANNOT KNIFE-STAB ANYONE WHIT THIS!
Make melee chars silent killer more viable, because now is so bad and even the perk description says that works whit melee weapons but NO! THEY SEE U AND THEY CAN RUN
Yea lets grab those cheap mtfk smg and burst them from 5 hex, we do like 1000 damage and they dont see u, and a knife critical if does 40 damage is shit!!. Improve backstab for melee weapons, this is unbeliable, range weapons so OP. That perk must be AWESOME FOR KNIFE, buT NOO, U BACKSTAB PEOPLE WHIT BULLETS. Thats dumbbbbbbbb!!!
-
Yes.
Melee cannot into anything for now because main weapons are balanced.
-
It would be even better with a super catle prod or super sledge... but that's virtual :(
-
Too much rage...but yeah melee backstabs with silent death should be more useful, maybe like +25 crt table with melee and with throwing weapons(not granade ofc), because it would be awesome, and I dont think it would be OP at all, but fun.
Btw I think you have not enough sneak if they see u every time from 3 hex.

>+25 on crit table

What the hell dude...
-
you imagine that if you run 2 or 3 hexes will not break sneak
if you have the sneak status it will deal crittical, even if you are or not seen
try to backstab snipers or biggunners in the arm with better critticals
-
The silent death is +10, hth criticals is +25(?) that's at least x3 critical, with a sledge you can have ~44 average base damage so that's ~132 dmg... with a x5 that would be 220, not that bad, but nowhere near the ~500 dmg from burst.
-
I think we should add some effects to melee weapons to differentiate them from unarmed a bit more
-
Guns are guns. Fists are fists. Unarmed character risks nothing since there is no punishment for death so he shouldn't get any results done either. Until death itself provides rewards for the killer and punishment for the victim, pure unarmed could be viable.

..say remove knockback and add Heavy Handed style knock down? :D
Melee weapons have thrust and swing options but both do the same... one could be used to give a critical mod and the other do give a dmg mod.
-
That kind of thing, yes
-
Yea that will be good, thrust giving like +15% critical chance, and swing giving more damage. Because now melee is underpowered against hth, and is VERY UNDERPOWERED against sniper/burst/what ever.
And some damage buffs to all the melee weapons will be good, i think that a combat knife in the eye should hurt has much that a 223 bullet.

max AC is 220
perk In Your Face
special PERKS(bonus HtH dmg/++, more HtH crits...)
Heavy Handed
i say that HtH is preety buffed, Think BlindMaster will have a new play style, or time to find out a new prefix for Lag in HtH

The problem is Unarmed is better than Melee. Melee needs a little spicing up I think.
I'm thinking that making it a bit more "cripply" is the way forward.
-
i agree surf that HtH>Melle
if you say that you whant to make melle weapons have a higher chance to cripple than the rest then
YOU, SIR, HAVE MY SEAL OF APROVAL
sugestion: add a new weapon perk: Bladed, better crittical hit table for that weapon
-
I'll ignore you getting my name wrong ;)
I don't mean extra crit help, I mean some test to cripple whatever was targeted, or knockout, or knockdown.
-
well, in this case, let me understand
increased chance to, let's say for an arm shot, upgrade a crittical hit to arm cripple?
that is what i whant implemented
-
Not a critical, any hit in HH style.
-
hm, i agree that melee is rather underpowerd atm against unarmed, but my silent death melee guy uses spears and i find the extra 1 hex range to be incredibly effective. there is NOTHING better than spearing a guy in the leg and watching him go flying away from you, allowing you to resneak again. hahah.
it is not WEAK, its just not as strong as unarmed+300 sneak.
i really like how throwing weapons does not desneak you - throwing knives ftw. i am still leveling him, but i am going to test what kind of crits you get from SD with throwing knives + wakizashi blade in hex throw. i expect it will be quite glorious.
-
Hammers could have chance to knock down or better chance break arms/legs(at cost of dmg) at aimed hits.
Bladed weapons (knifes, spears) could have crafted option to add poison(doc profesion for stronger ones). Stronger options could even add radiation (needed uranium ore). I think spear that gives you rad lvls would be fearsome...

What the hell dude...
Remember you need to hit with melee weapon, you could even one hit unarmored with raw dmg, and maybe make instant death but it will be like 50%. NOW SILENT DEATH BURSTERS one shoting everyone even max armored/hp/psycho/touchness...so my suggestion would be very weak compared to bursters dmg. (btw silent death now bringing +10 on crt table)

Do not agree, I will make power fist user, and that thing cost, maybe will walk even with mega fist if I find blueprints. So I will loose much when I will die, so dont mess with that. Dmg with unarmed isnt that high without gear, of course its better than melee weapons because you cant use melee weapon skill without melee wp :).
-
Does the wakizashi still have the AP perk?
I generally think about 2 perks for melee:
Piercing Blades (name is to be discuessed ;))
100 % melee or 100 % Throwing
Adds Armor Piercing +% chance when using knifelike weapons (throwing knives, knife, combat knife, wakizashi, ripper, maybe spear)
Heavy Hit (also to be discussed)
100 % melee
Add knockdown +% chance to blunt weapons (crowbar, club, sledge, supersledge, maybe cattle-prod)
-
Unarmed only have power fist and haymakers (and spiked knuckles as a leveling weapon) melee has at least 3 end-game weapons and each could do something else.
Super sledge:
-more knockdown
-more knockouts
-can't aim for eyes
Ripper:
-more hand criples (this toy don't brake arms - it cuts them off!)
-no knockdowns or K.O. Ever.
Super Catle Prod:
-more x3, x4 and x5 criticals
-more armor bypass
-will never criple a limb
-
I don't know how often the hits goes up to +1000 for sneaker with silent death perk and SMG with his hand, if its often it should be decreased as any other char is able to do damage like this (ok, maybe minigunner will do so, but this is not so often).
I don't know what is the problem with hth. If the person have enough perception to see you from 3-4 hex and your being visible then I do not see any problem.
I met hth critt builds more like ten times. When they got me is was own3d!!! they beat me like I was a little girl: hit in leg -> cripple, hit in eye/head -> KO, KD, by pass, death.
Everybody knows that hth build are for fun rather for real fight and you're trying to make him f****** ninja, who takes action in Town Controls.

TL:DR Melee players are not rewarded for getting in close.
-
i really like how throwing weapons does not desneak you - throwing knives ftw.
Wait!
Is this true?
-
it is, when used with hex throwing, but it seems you cant inflict damage with them from hex throwing. i really hope this is just a bug and that grenades are not the only weapon intended to not desneak you.
