there are so many assholes on the server. i played for 4-5 hours, i was attacked by other players twice, all the equipment and hard work gone in seconds.
what's the point in playing the game, it's only waste of time.

Well, general discussion is fine. Assuming it is NCR, and not Hub or VC... NCR is the most troll-infested town, and you should not bring anything into it that you do not want to risk losing. I suggest, well, moving to another guarded town, and following other player guides; do things like collect Junk in city ruins, make BBs to get your first few levels, sell BBs to stores (4 caps each to merchants that deal Small Guns). Then, try to get a profession, such as the Gunsmith (Small Guns) profession. Read information on the wiki; it is for the most part accurate.

i was mining in the abandoned mine near gecko. i made enough caps to buy armor,weapons, ammo, when suddenly some guy killed me. his excuse was he needed some stuff. he saw me in vault suit and i was an easy target. 1 hour work gone. next time everything was ok until NCR and those freaks at the entrance. they were trying to steal stuff and after that they started attacking other players. i got away from there, did some missions and when i was about to barter with the iguana guy and leave they attacked me.
they are just waiting there for victims there ruining the game for others.
I uninstalled the game, it's too hard for the beginner.

that's true but no need to rage, look at me, my enemies i hated i kill em, all i did was practicing off to far ends of the world map so no one will find me, you'll get good exp and stuff, you can try again as i said before...

Gecko is far from abandoned, in fact it is not guarded. However there really isn't a safe place anymore in game. Except for maybe your tent, but even then you have to be careful for tent followers. Basically at this point the only way to get anywhere in game is know what your doing, or shack up with some group and pray they don't just use you. The Game itself doesn't suck, certain aspects of the game and 92% of the player base sucks. It's full of people who get off abusing others with no consequence, and we're waiting on wipe so it's not about to change anytime soon.

I've lost a combat armor MK II (I'm low level so that kinda hurts for me) today because a PK entered my encounter while I was burning mutated mole rats for xp.
Game is full of assholes, just try to stay away from them and find some decent friends.
And avoid shopping with people nearby, especially in NCR, that place is a hive of idiots.
And yeah... Make a tent, no point in working hard if there's no place to put your hard work.

I uninstalled the game, it's too hard for the beginner.
Try to remember that everyone on the server started as a beginner, same as you. Yes, there is a pretty significant learning curve, but it DOES get easier. Your first character can be a crucible of sorts. Whether or not you decide to slug through it or not is completely up to you, so either reach down and grab a pair, or continue to revel in your fail.
Choice is yours.

P.S. I was slain yesterday 4 times and kill noone. i lost 50 SS, LSW, 100 223ammo and a lot of sheetstuff. I play Fonline more than year. Prepare for suffering, noob!

Next time you're going to hunt scorpions don't forget to get PA and gauss.
About NCR: opposite, NCR is a place where you can get items without even doing anything, you can be even afk 95% of time and just loot innocent people who died from suicidal maniacs, trolls, bombers, crazy bursting guards, idiots, GM abuse or NPC abuse or some other sort of silly death. If you don't want to lose items in NCR, there is really easy solution: come there naked! If you have no items, you can't lose it! Or at least keep armor on you and item(s) in your hands, if you have more than ~50-60 HP, you have low chance to die because of random suicider.
Also those items, accumulating items, crafting them, what for? If you're alone, you won't use anything above jacket and pistol anyway (oh, right, you can hunt molerats in CAmk2), because if you'll handle something alone, it means you don't need high tier items, and if you need high tier items for something, it means you'll die there alone anyway.

It's hard but too hard is matter of opinion. We have a saying in our community and it goes "Wasteland is harsh". It's misused alot but where it surely applies is when you start the game as new player.

I wasn't so active latelly, so now the life expectancy of bluesuits and miners is much better. 4-5 hours and only 2 deaths it's outrageous, I don't know what the other pk's are doing but they are lame.

not bing funny dude your quiteing after you got killed after all that work 4-5 hours, i had my hole bunker raped wich was like 5 months worth of stuff ! at the end of the day thats the game, you need to make a tent to store it otherwise everytime you die your just going to lose everything

The bunker was your own fault getting rapped. Being in Redding again your own fault, but the other stuff that goes on in places like NCR, and so forth, may be the 'game' but it's just a bunch of punks abusing weaker players. They should go to wow where they have to actually work for their kills in pvp, then watch them whine.

I agree, There should be SOME -AND- PUBLIC haven for weaker players, or those just looking for some chatter.

But a public safe area would have safe guards in place to protect against these people. You missed the point. a SAFEHAVEN, available to ALL PLAYERS (meaning all levels).

Like NCR? But NCR is already exists! Guards protect innocent from suicidal bluesuiters! Of course it's usually too late, but they're trying. Also if suicider failed, guards will help him by bursting him, his victim and someone else killing everyone in a line. Oh, also, there's the tent of death with brahmins/mercs or other players in doorway, merc exploiters who runs on exit grid after ordering mercs to kill innocents so mercs disappear with their leader without harm, dynamite planters, or just luring guards in other part of town and making massacre at bazaar before they return. Actually NCR is fun place, I don't know why people complaining about it. Creating other place like NCR will be bad, as it'll only divide people or one of those locations will be empty. So there shouldn't be other public "protected" places.

Guarded towns being safe is a myth anyways. How many pickpockets are there in redding or den or reno? They stay in NCR or Hub or VC because the guards protect them until they are detected.

Well NCR is a useless place that doesn't really help any new player, it just is a place for people to gather and annoy each other. It's the least safe 'guarded' town in the game next to VC in the early hours. It's sad, and since that's supposedly the most powerful city in the wastes, you can figure it only goes down hill from there. And the whole if you don't die you won't be a good player. HA unless you're a bluesuit every time you get killed, all it does is destroy whatever work you may have done over the day. That doesn't help you grow it just teaches you the other sad part of the game, which is work hard to build stuff just to hide it unless you have a ton of it cause you're just gonna lose it all. 'yay fun'

Generally speaking in a real wasteland those who are looking out only for themselves probably won't last long. Any kind of RL comparison gets really silly when you start talking about pickpockets. I mean... you really think you're going to be able to steal something while you're trying to sell it under the watchful eye of guards and the merchant? No... I really don't think so.
However.... it's a game.

Yes this game really sucks, but I don't think you nailed the reason why it does.
Anyway they are trying to improve it, and they do it all for free, so the game has my respect even though it sucks.

This game separates who likes Apocalipse/MadMax from who doesn't.
So who doesn't like this theme, is more hard to do a progress in this game.

In realism the guards would pay better attention, and the one time you f'd up you'd be D E D<---- forever. And I certainly love a challenge but this isn't a challenge, it's get carried or farm a few spiffy spots til max level, drug up and pick on weaklings. Pretty much the opposite of challenge. I play in small groups or solo, I've amassed a fair amount of stuff. But sadly the game loses ALL of it's entertainment value when you get hit with the punk kid holding his magnifying glass over your ant hill.

Agreed, the penalty for being spotted and killed in town should be MUCH more severe. -1,000 Rep.
Imagine, in a crowded town, a person gets caught, shot, EVERYONE in town tags him red ,and can now killed him in town. That seems like a better system.

That would make it alot harder for newbies, who have no idea what they're doing.

Yeah.. there are many towns, but people just use about 1 to 2 towns.. NCR and HUB :(
I use them all, if i got feeling to go adventure.

Not alot of use to a perk like that no combat build would ever take it. Seriously if a guard see's somebody robbing somebody else shouldnt they do something about it lol?

I added that maybe you could add it to an existing perk. I'm sure devs have numbers on how many of the perks get chosen, so take one of the rarely used PE affecting perks and add that to it.

Really? Pickpockets are your main concern? You don't hang around NCr that much if minor thievery is your main concern lol.
Don't ever go to NCR unless you've already decided its ok that your gear is up for grabs. If it is, then don't be afraid, sometimes you'll walk, sometimes you won't.
Gear really isn't all that precious anyways, losing it is at most an inconvenience. To some, they revolve their entire gaming experience around inconviencing others. If you don't wish to engage these fellows, don't hang around NCR.
Oh but I would like to see some anti thieving builds....

It's not my main concern, but is something I think should be done. It's not just NCR either, NCR is the main area thieves congregate at, but I've had my pocket picked in The Hub too. It wasn't a problem though, it was just the gear I started with. It has stopped me from selling a few times though. I go to a merchant and someone starts following me real close so I leave and they just keep following me.

Griefers in general are the concern. The people who are capped and drugged up running around jumping lowbies trying to make it. The sad part is the soo called strongest city isn't safe from them either, in any fashion. I know everyone's afraid of 100% safe places. we don't even have a 20% one lol. All the nice players left cause of the abuse of the childish ones, then the childish ones whine about no game population. And people wonder why???

Worst time for me was when I forgot to place my highwayman key in hand when I went shopping in the hub. The guy wanted 10,000 caps which I didn't have but I managed to exchange my 0% BA which I had crafted only 10 mins previous so it wasn't a big loss.
Basically theft can happen to anyone anywhere, you just got to remember to make sure the stuff you can't replace is in your hands.

The fact that you can get killed by anyone anywhere and lose all your things is my favorite aspect of this game.
