As in subject i suggest to remove inner grids in New Reno.
I think it will bring more fun to this City.
-
totally agree inner grids are ruining the fun...
-
Quite good idea, indeed.
-
I agree it too every other town dont have so much sectors
-
Wait... WHAT? So you want to make it to where you can only enter through the ONE worldmap entrances into these sectors of the city? Do you have any idea how retarded that sounds? It sounds like you just want it to be alot easier to just camp reno if this is the case.
I would propose somehow connecting all the sectors into one map, it's not like it'll destroy the server memory, look at Gecko, or modoc, or Klamath, and it'll heavily decrease this grid camping 24/7.

I know exactly what he said, I'm saying, that if this is made, then the only way I can enter commercial row is through the commercial row worldmap entrance.
However with the inner grids, I can go from 2nd street to commercial, or virgin, or gas station, or east side.
This keeps people from simply grid camping that one place so easily.
Maybe you should lrn2read?
Or maybe it's the comprehension skill you lack.

Or maybe you are too dumb because it wont will be only one entreance ? It will be like all other cities have enter from north south etc ? Damn low real int sux ;D
-
Huh, michael, you don't make any sense... Actually you can control commercial by gridcamping the two entrances. If all maps are merged, you won't be able to do it anymore, cause people will be able to enter from very far away to come get you.
-
Yeah Reno need that. Now fights there sucks. Too much gridcamping and gridenter. I would also delete every npc there ;)
-
Michael ist sad u still dont get it :(
the ide is to REMOVE INNER grids (green grids inside city) not brown ones. Then the whole map gona be in one piece.
Manero nice avatar btw :P

Good luck finding someone who will merge those maps (hint: no one will do it).

You can do it Surf, we count on You !

Post in suggestions are actually suggesting ideas to developpers, which do it, modify it, add it on todo list, or refuse it, depending on what they think is better. Like domination map are actually priority, I guess it won't happen soon. Doesn't mean Lexx won't do it when he have some time if this idea is accepted (and I hope it will be, as it's a good one). So we don't really have to "find someone", unless we want this right now.
-
When was it mentioned the map would be merged except when I suggested it?
No, it was only mentioned they would be "Removed".
So quit the bullshit.
-
I heavily doubt a good PvP player like DocAN would suggest to remove inner grid without merging map. It was implicit the maps would be merged, and everyone but you understood it like that. I thought it was quite obvious.

There nothing more to describe its cleary and everyone know whats is about it

You just keep saying that...
Anyways, the junk (Spam in topic) needs to be cleared. Surf?
p.s. I totally agree with the suggestion now that there is better understanding anyways. I mean, I practically rephrased it in a more detailed manner in my second post....

Surf can u explain whats the problem in merging that map ? (its a question, not a sneaky tricky comment :F)
I play with mapper (ofcooz making small projects not big like this) so it would be usefull info for me.

I don't think Surf is a mapper, he just knows stuff. He's the guy responsible for public relations here, right?
-
I've started merging the shit a million years ago, but never finished it because it wasn't needed yet and other stuff was more important anyway.

New Reno's structure is not rectangular, but something similar to a cross. You'd need to fill up the empty space with additional buildings/ruins/etc.

::)
Junktown, SF, NCR, Hub(almost), Redding, Gecko, Broken Hills, Modoc, Klamath, Den was a number of maps in f2/f1 and now its mostly one map so why not New Reno? I hope it will change in near future.
Btw. i got great avatar ;D

There is no real empty space. What you see is how the town is build up-- right after the entrance sign is the center, etc. Same with the Hub, which should be much smaller than it is in the game right now.
-
This is really wanted feature. New Reno is the most popular pvp town out there and the green grids really hinder the activity. Whether or not we're supposed to fight each other over pointless goals in a no-tc town is another matter but that's what's going on.

Depends how you build up the map, if you don't make it rectangular, then scrolling will have to be limited in some parts, making it.. questionable.

It is time to move it to the top of the "to do" list.
Forget about The Wipe :P
Seriusly, it would be nice to see this before Wipe which will happen later than sooner.

Such things are way too low on the to-do list.

And besides that, I won't touch those maps or waste time with (for me) unnecessary changes, if, then Lexx will do it. But then again, read the first sentence I wrote above. As for information of why it is not an easy, un-tedious work, read Kilgores post. Beside that, it would make Reno appear way smaller, as if it would just consist of this small area one can visit. I don't support this suggestion and bigass maps are a pain in the arse to navigate in. Not everyone plays in some uber high resolution.

@up
-Move it to the top of the "to do" list.
-No, because it's low on the "to do" list.

If only I had a working mapper....

Things placed on the list are not determined by some random suggestion on the forum.

It's not even on the to-do list.
Besides, I am still in my "vacation," so I see no land for that anytime soon.
