Agreed, that's why we should have something like this, for people without awareness:

yep, its a really good idea, cause having not having awareness is a pain in the ass. The only problem that it will reduce the advantage that awareness gives you at real time. But it will be quite handy. So i approve it too, you should make a vote in this post

Heh, wanted to suggest this also.
It's kinda unfair that awareness guys have interface advantage, not only knowing exact HP weapon and armor.

You can't have a cake and eat it. Either pick awareness as one of your perks or deal with the consequences of not doing it, period.

O'k lets disable info popup for awareness guys too. They can use their binoculars instead.

I don't much care if i won't see enemies health or weapons.
I don't care if they use firearms against me, because they are useless when i'm crippled they both hands (like those .223 pistol dudes who start cry when i pickup they weapon :P)
I don't care about what VC Citizen say, because i kill them with my bare hands xD

This would add to the gameplay. The dropdown menu was designed for turn based combat and in gaming enviroment where characters were 90% immobile.

If that was implemented and you had a considerable amount of players together and near each other, would it not spam you?

There could be a on/off option, just as we have now on awarness.
As for why... To keep awarness a usefull perk. With 3d everyone will see others weapons and armour so that takes away 50% of that perk, mouseover status takes 50% of what's left.

Thats not enough to justify spending an entire perk on. I agree with Pistacja, I had totally forgotten about the 3D models, and the 2D models that we have now is what makes Awareness so damn useful. I've reconsidered and am not sure  that this is a good idea.

Bad idea.  The mouseover info is the whole point of awareness.  Not long ago, awareness didn't even have that.  That's what made the perk useful in the first place.

If somebody thinks that this is not useful enough, could take another perk. Why 1st perk always awareness or toughness?

That's right, I agree. In fact, I've suggested this (http://fodev.net/forum/index.php?topic=11032.0) some time ago, actually based on one of your comments somewhere in the forum.

I never said that this would be a new perk, this is just adapting Fallout mechanics to real time, where one doesn't have the ability to use the "Look" function.

P.S. Coordinates on world map are shown regardless of OD now.

This is a good suggestion.

To those saying "Ooh, it's imbalanced, that's the point of taking Awareness":

Before the update that made Awareness be mouse-over, you still had to do take the time to do a Binoculars text. In this sense, Awareness was equal compared to just being able to see them as "Unhurt" because for both instances, you had to use Binoculars.

Ever since Awareness became mouse-over, awareness got a boost from it, but the people not having awareness did not get a proportionate boost. This is all this suggestion would be doing. It would be making it equal again, boosting both sides, and Awareness would still be just as useful. This would only save a split second in Real-time combat, and it would have no effect at all in Turn-based, so it is not overpowered.

(Not to mention that ever since mouse-over update, awareness has the ability to determine opponent's exact armor, another advantage of taking Awareness, and another reason this suggestion wouldn't overpower anything.)

To be honest I wanted to write this suggestion when I first played a char with awerness, but well, not happened because I'm lazy :).
What would be nice for awerness however, if it could've be modified so you can somehow see which limbs are crippled. But then again it could be good idea for everyone even without that thing.

Why 1st perk always awareness or toughness?

I never take either, except Awareness on merc leader, especially if merc leader is doctor.

Strong back is pretty good for a lv3 perk.

Cautious Nature weakened by the bugged spawn points in some "vs" maps.

Quick Recovery is also good.
I give that if Stonewall reqs not met and I don't want the others I usually choose.
