Sneaker is not for a starter.
Just seek for small guns builds - sniper, pistol  crippler or burster

for star is big gunner easy, just take flamer and few fuels (its good if you have some support, few guys to help you at start when you will die a lot time), go on floters and coenturas and FLAMMMEEEE you will lvling up really fast... and when you finally lvl 21, its really cool with Rocket launchers and miniguns/lsw killing around ;D

my sick crazy doc build:
1 str +wh = 4 str for melee
6 pe for see normally and awarennes
4 en - for not very low hp
9 ch - for join vc and lead, and take +1 follower perk, drink beer for 10ch
10in - for lot sp
10ag - u can take 9 and drink nuca cola
1lk - ...

tag melle
doc
fa

at 3 lvl yoo can be doc 2 lvl join vc at 1 lvl and make stimpaks

at 6(dont remember) 3lvl doc and can make drugs

lot of caps from flowers, traders most of time have caps

when yoo have caps give some for newbies and they bring yoo flowers

yoo can go to mine at gecko, and gather hq and sell

yoo can raise outdorsman, melee, fa, doc, and barter at low lvl up to nice %

easy exp by healing vc patrul and doc for citizens

anyway, yoo can try roleplay and its doesnt matter what build yoo have.

For healing crippled limbs, yes. That's a solo crafter/leader doctor build. If you want a PvP doctor, you'll need something that looks very different.

ST 4
PE 6
EN 6
CH 3
IN 6
AG 9 (+1 with small frame)
LK 6

trait small frame, fast shot

perks:
awareness / toughness / packrat
bonus ranged dmg (new players sometimes ignore this because of only +2 dmg, but remember that it's +2 per bullet, so in a burst is a lot)
bonus ranged dmg
life giver
life giver
bonus rate of fire
toughness

tag: smallguns, first aid, outdoorsman

That's a beginner friendly build

If you want it to be more combative:
switch to 8en, 1ch
same traits, same tags
perks:
toughness
bonus ranged dmg
bonus ranged dmg
life giver
bonus rate of fire
action boy
action boy

You will be able to do 3bursts but you can't carry friends or talk with most NPCs

I meant, sucks for First Aid. And as result, for leveling up.

with 9 ch yoo can buy from players weak slaves, or ask them to gift yoo weak or strong slaves, so at 1 lvl yoo can go in rt combat and kill +5-10 hp creatures and have easy exp. or make at 3 lvl *big* caps on stimpacs and rad away and buy strong mercs. so its *no way* to die in wastelands.
avoid any smg creatures with melee mercs.
meh use melee , they kill all location without huge hurt.
any way yoo can have 5 mercs/slaves with 9 ch and citizenship, just take magnetic personality..
so maybe u dont need melee skil , maybe yoo can easyly take exp on craft and heal. so chose melee/outdorsman.
if yoo dont creat character yet me can give yoo flowers to make yoo 3lvl or 6 lvl. thats good start :)

I have a build exactly like this one when you use the 1ch alternative. VERY good build :)

well you can always be a stealth based build, just have high INT. maybe skilled trait and educated perk ASAP and dump all points into sneak, get ghost and maybe harmless for stealing (if you want to level up stealing from eye crippled npcs if I recall you can get 100xp constantly for a sucessful +5 steals)

it's bad that sneak is kind of useless though and requiring some work, why would a throwing knife break your sneak? :S

Thats really a good beginners build. If you tag repair instead of first aid, and put some points into science too,
you can easily become small guns crafter lv3 with this build. You will only need a buffout to get the lv3 prof,
and a mentat if you choose the 1charisma option.
