This is a pretty simple suggestion, New Vegas gave me the idea. Make binoculars available to craft (2 x scope and junk?). When held in the main hand, they double/give some boost to your vision range.

Simple, but good idea. Nothing much to add, I like it and don't see any negative things about it.

Great idea and big boost for biggunners and low PE chars. Dont know if it is not imba. Could make Sharpshooter chars obsolete. Anyway I think it is nice feature which could make game more interesting.

Could be a nice solution to the limited viewing range of low Pe chars.

Wouldn't give a bonus when firing though.

Good idea, would offer some uses. Could be even craftable item.
So how to use one? Put it in hand and "use it". Wouldn't work while running or walking.

Easiest way would be to automatically higher the FoV while having it in active hand slot, nothing more.
If you run, the bonus doesnt work, only while standing. Ofcourse its not working if you switch to your gun either.

This would be better indeed.

Also shouldn't the binoculars only increase frontal FoV?

This is one of those nice, useful tools you'll find often on the sneaking sniper, who also happens to have a motion detector and stealthboy on his person when you finally find him.  ;)

I agree.

I also think the same effect should happen when you are about to shoot with a Scoped Hunting Rifle or a Sniper Rifle (have I forgotten any other scoped weapon?)

So, when you are just wielding the rifle, your FoV is normal; but, when you press "A" (get ready to shoot) you get the same boost as with binoculars.

doin an overhaul on the inventory art atm will be done this evening i think.

How much is that, 100 hexes? 80? Sounds too much. Personally i would prefere if it was around 20 hexes, also if all scoped weapons got simillar bonus but a bit less, like 10 hexes and -8 on the back.

If you want scoped weapons to have such bonuses, then they are going to have to be nerfed for in-close shots even more, that no amount of uber-skill is going to negate.  You focus intently on scope, aiming 50+ hexes away, you aren't going to hit shit, or even notice it, if it gets in close and outside of your tunnel-vision.

I like it looking used but it seems a bit...square to be binoculars although that may just be my opinion (front near the lens) maybe its just an optical illusion
