Ok, starting off I'd like to say I have been in every part of The Glow I could go without either A) Dying... Again. or B) unable to access due to "Elevator not being powered?".
so I believe I've explored at least ... 80% of Glow.
Now for the report itself:
I arrive at Glow, pop a few Rad-X to survive the Deadly radiation in the crater and it's surrounding area. I climb down the BeamRope into a dead level of the vault, no life, only ..incinerated ghouls? (Does this really make sense? I thought radiation not only were immune it but it HEALED them??) I explore the lower levels, OH SHIT ROBUTS!!! "gets insta raped by a 1hex burst and knockout." Well the rad-x will last a good long time I guess I'll give it another shot. "Regears, heads back to Glow". "rapes robots with his smg and ap ammo" Yayayyyyy!!! free 0% assault rifles!!! :D. "goes deeper, and destroys more bad ole robos!" "yay like 8 0% new Assault rifles :D" I decide to check out some levels i missed since I tried going straight to level 5 for free items but apparently the elevator doesntwork and all the computers i tried to use to fix it "Do nothing". "Gets raped on like level 2 by a minigun mr gutsy and other robo baddies." Dammit, *RRRRAAAGGGGEE**** ONE MORE GOOO!!! "goes back and DESTROYS THEM BWAHAHAHAHHA!" Gets his stuph back and walks out with his uber cool poker face shiny new metal armor, Assault Rifles, and minigun :P.
In conclusion, it is a challenging, for my build, any other "powerbuild" could easily go through this like 10 times since rad-x lasts so long, and I forgot to mention how short the respawns are, this is so easily farmable but the robuts aren't strong enough, just because there is extreme radiation doesn't make up for pve strength in a dungeon, buff up the mr gutsy, give the eyebots a lil more strength, and give the robobrains AP ammo.
Btw,the mr gutsy has almost no bg skill, so it was frikkin easy.
BUT, I want whoever that made up this dungeon, the Seal of Awesomeness, because this was DEFINITELY a good first try mate, keep it up, and thank you devs and gms who helpe create this awesome dungeon.

But I could NOT figure it out! Do you need some sort of % in repair or something ?!?! If so I'm pretty much fucked sad to say but thing is, I used science and repair on all the computers and generators etc, and it stilll did nothin so if someone could ... gimme a hint?
More "Dungeons" and stuff like this will probably come soon too.

I wasn't there and I don't know, but I would try to find some wires, generators, weird lights, use repair/science on all of them and on the elevator itself too, Lordus said it's very easy so it's just probably about using a skill on a certain item. I think so...

the 5th level of the glow features a minigame style loot grab. all the lockers have various themed gear in them and they are more difficult to break the longer they've been unopened, which also have significant loot. i won't tell you what i've gotten out of there(read: good shit you dont think is even in the game) but since ive mostly stopped playing i don't feel bad posting here. anyway, you could've just looked up the fallout 1 glow FAQ and that would've given you all the info you need.
you need a high repair skill character to hold the 6th floor and defend against the robots. metal armor is weaksauce because the robots that will hurt you will use electric anyway. you also need a max skilled lockpick character with extended lockpicks to even have a chance at opening the lockers down there. the respawn is very, very fast, and if you stay there for any extended period of time you will undoubtedly run into a large death squad.
you and your buddies would be best suited to try the glow out when you have two teams at the ready.
just expect no quarter from us... :D

I'm more likely to go now, its not like its a huge surprise there aren't that much variation in game mechanics. It's just a harder version of the ship.

I think lockers need to be rebuilded. Because it is VERY flustrating if you CANT open the lockers with 300 lockpick and expadned lockpick set. For example today, 16 tries on different lockers and not EVEN one was successful. I know there is maybe a lot of things in them, but if you just cant open them its pretty lame. You make a big group, invest some time to go on 5floor, a lot of bullets and nothing from it...

rubber boots would make you recive even more elec damage in rl, unless they try to electricute you through the rubber. otherwise the electricity wont flow through your body and leave by feet because they would be isolated from the ground by thy rubber boots.

Good observation, except flowing through your body may make it pass through your heart.
Instead of maybe arcing back to some other part of the attacker.
Besides, i meant it as a general association of things.
I thought DC would be worse, but its the AC instead. There should be knockback from those shock weapons! (http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/770179-overview)

What makes you think that? Is it the fact that you have some supa-dupa hack that shows his skills or is it because you think that having 300% skill is impossible?

i think having locks its wrong
its hard enough to get to the last level of the glow without dying because of the rads or the robots but being there still wasting time to unlock the lockers its just too much.
if u dont want us to get the prize then dont make it available. i think the main purpose is to test our combat skills, not lockpicking

think about it. a normal char should be able to get the loot, not a thief char.
it sounds like its only available to people who only spend their skill points into 1 skill

You go there alone then u got nth, u must work as a team
If u just wanna loot some eq., power plant@Gecko, stable/two big casino@New Reno, lara's gang/casino@Den, these place will suit u enough
and i must say one thing, dun even try to play only ONE char. across the waste, its too sad

Has anyone been to the glow since? are the 300% impervious lockers fixed? And is there actually anything down there worthwhile?
I'm thinking of doing a glow run with my crew of 12 to 15 people, but who wants to go if it just sucks in the end? Which is all I hear from anyone? We're definetely game if it's going to be fun, but not if it's just going to be frustrating.
Is there any place harder/better? Sierra military depot was a major dissappointment... :S (The turrets that autokill everyone when you zone out of the building to leave - lame)

Well, if ya got got 2 rad x and 1 rad away each, a reparator, and few lockpicker, it can be fun to do, and you can get some nice stuff if you're lucky enough and it's at least 5/6 hours before the last expedition there.
Lockers never been bugged, you just have to use a high lockpick char and some IRL luck.

Someone should make a youtube video of the glow dungeon... and of course managing to unlock at least one locker for motivational purposes. But then again some people would prefer to keep it all secretive which is understandable.

Glow is just Alt promoting dungeon. You need somebody who have alt with 300 skill and expanded lockpick. After few try most time one locker will go :)

You can have even 100 but 200% +super tool its like 5 min of working genereator if less then less time, its not a big problem if u are not alone and somebody just wait on generator flor

i havent been there quite a while, but i remenber i used to repair it with my pvp char with 28 repair skill, and i was succesful after cuple of times, and there is no cooldown for that repairing, and no need tool so its quite easy you just need to have friend there and repair it every 5 minutes

if you give them anti rad meds them yes. if not they will die fast.

I have done glow alone with 2 characters , don't ask how ;D
" Serious challenge ".... the pve part is too easy those bots are just an annoyance rather than a threat , but the pvp part about the place is just lame , one entrance from WM and for the place itself and those elevators it's just arghh ... if you see someone entering just call friends and camp the only exit points from map , is that an elevator inside or just the only exit to the top it doesn't matter you just 1 hex people that pops out.
Overall the only useful thing to get there is gauss ammo , maybe some fresh minigun or shit that is better than some random amount of flamer fuel , bio med gel and other worthless crap to find there ....
Changes i would like to see.
Step 1: Make changes to glow

Step 3: Profit
If another entrance point from wm would be added , more entrance points to the glow itself add 2 more ropes :) , ability to " take stairs " like going to other floor through green grid , the place would become more appealing pvp wise. Increase the amount of bots and the strength of them , give them better guns like some minigun , m60 , give rocket launcher back to those worthless melee bots , adjust the chance to loot the items for them to not be farmed , increase the respawn time of them , increase the count of low tier items when you get low tier items through lockers(like getting 4 flamer fuel wtf) , give bigger chances for better armors , weapons , i want to find some avenger , lsw , maybe even gauss pistol , hell even PA for some small chance etc. etc. i could go on in details forever.
ya i know it's a big blob of " i want " , but if those changes would be made , i don't know why someone wouldn't want to visit the place. I could make a suggestion about detailed changes i would like to see , but making suggestions is a waste of time , it's easier to criticize other suggestions .....

Short re-spawn time for robots is fine, at least you will not be able to come back as blue-suit every time you die. The Glow is farmed all the time, that's why mostly you can find there a few worthless items, like flamer fuel, that no one wants to carry out. If you want to find Avengers, LSWs and better stuff, log in with more than just 2 characters and spend more time looking for it. :)
For me the best thing about the Glow is that, I could find there many wonderful items like hundreds of healing powders, spears, flints, hatchets... I never know what is hidden/abandoned there.
