The thing missing in this is, of course, competition.  There are no Cockroach dealerships that are trying to undercut the others in order to get more sales.  So the price goes up and up, and theres nowhere to go to find a better deal!  In a true economy, there is always someone willing low bid in order to get the sale.

So the fact that the prices is so high isn't because the law of supply and demand isn't working, rather, it's because the Devs set up a total monopoly.

Clearly the solution is make mercs(and maybe even cars) craftable.

I think you mean, in a true CAPITALIST economy. But you are right about the monopoly thing. Anyway, I don't think that the element of competition could be added to the game... I am not asking the devs to make a game with a more complex and realistic economic system, I am just asking to make prices more reasonable so everyone can have access to cars or mercs without paying too much.

Craft some armor, go to vault city become a citizien , sell some armor in the inner city (morning time is the better) repeat for 10 days, you will be rich...

Put caps in bank , with this new idea of the interest you get 1000 - 3000 caps for day without any work (if you have 100 k, if you are in a group easily your groups would have 500 k so interest are 5000 caps -15 000 caps for day)

Well I didn't know about the armor trick. And we, a group of three, are poor because our characters aren't so strong yet. And merchants have few or no caps on them, so trying to sell your loot for caps doesn't really work.

Lol all I know is that cars are too expensive, gas should be the expensive thing not the actual car made from scrap metal and junk...

So i agree with you that cars should only have a base price, but I think that the cost of Mercs (Humans and Mutants) shouldnt be changed. I made a post about this a few weeks ago actually... called CAR PRICES

Did you ever heard about a bug with unpickable car? That's why everyone is buying more and more cars. They are not disappearing anywhere (since they can't be destroyed), so people are buying new cars because they are loosing a key to it. For exaple we have like 7-10 cockroaches, 5 buggy, 5 hummers and something else only because we lost a keys for almost all of them.

They should just make keys permanent on your char so you don't lose when you die and it can only be transferred through trade window. Maybe you swallowed it right before you got shot or something.

Yeah, the same way radios could cost 1 caps but they're 300... As for me the price should be fixed... or add more merchants...

Considering how tight the skill points are in this game are having a "necessary" skill be bypassable is needed, and cars have to many disadvantages atm. You can easily lose them, they are expensive and (I assume) you can't have followers without shelling out the big bucks. Mercs take up car slots right?
