Dungeons
« on: September 17, 2010, 10:43:09 pm »

Someone probaly already suggested this. :P

I think some PvE "dungeons" are in order, that will requrie more than say 3 people to complete, skills like repair and lockpick needed to make headway.
I think it MAY, cure alot of people's boredom.

Get rewarded with EXP when dungeon complete. Plus the loot on the way.

If any devs are interested, i could design some dungeons.

Here is 2 links to show my map making skills- (I am familiar with FO2 mapper as well)

click 'view original' for a detailed pic of map.

These are maps from my unfinished fallout tactics mod.-- opinions please.

Doesn't look bad. :)

But:

- FO:Tactics mapper ain't FOnlines mapper.
- A map alone makes no dungeon crawl.
- Much more needed at setting scripts etc.
- Mapping is actually the easiest part of all the work-process

How similar/dis-similar is Fonline mapper to FO2 mapper.

I am quite familiar with FO2 mapper.

Obviously tactics and Fonline are very different mapper. :P

There may be an announcement for a competition that may interest you in the not too distant future ... keep your eyes peeled. ;)

Is there any news about dungeons? Will you add them only after wipe?

I wonder what will be done to prevent them being camped by PvPers and how fast it'll respawn for more to have fun as well.

The best way i can think of to add dungeons. is to add them like random caves are now. so that more than one group can do them. they're too random to camp. and will respawn sooner without them respawning while you're still in the dungeon.

But thats just my two cents.

Camped dungeons are fun too! On the start of this era most fun and loot from glow came by camping it or killing campers there.

Yes. but this is meant for party PvE. not PvP. you're not meant to have to bring a minigun to root out the campers before you can kill the monsters i think.

Camping is just retarded and cheap. There's nothing wrong with pvp in those dungeons as long as players get a chance to fight back when ambushed.

Currently developed dungeons are designed for (group) PvE, not PvP.
