a funny thing about military dudes, I live in sweden, and I'm friends with the ranked officers, and have a contract with them that if everything goes to hell I'll be able to take a selection of weapons (made one of the higher ranked officers sign when he was drunk  , so yeah, I have everything covered for a bit of fun)

Also when you die you won't care about that you died, because you're dead and can't care about anything, also when you die your brain will act at max and time will be slowed down for you at x(very much) times and you'll see whole your life again and probably again and again, so don't worry about death.

It would pulverize the earth, not a single "preparation" for the apocalypse would help you out here.
