Pit fights
« on: July 07, 2010, 11:07:35 pm »

This evening, the citizens of Hub could mention some dark shades gathering in their city and heading to the Maltese Falcon bar. The common people quickly disappeared from the streets when they saw those strangers coming.
The reason of such gathering of dangerous-looking men was, that Hub underground was organising highly illegal pit fights tournament. The whole thing was plotted by mastermind called Puzan. He invited some rough warriors skilled in unarmed combat and then he spreaded the rumour about the tournament through the wasteland, among adventureres, mercenaries, scoundrels and many others.
The fighters and those who just want to watch and see some blood, all met together in Maltese Falcon and bartender lead them to the basement.
From the bloody mess of many fights a champion has arisen. Formerly an unknown wastelander, now he is known as Jacall, champion of the Pits. And lucky with his fighting skills he earned the prize money, 1000 caps!
There are also some rumours, that Enzo, the owner of Gray Rock Trade Post took his part in this meeting of criminals, and the tournament prize money was sponsored by the Gray Rock Trade Post. But this must be really just some gossips, which have to spoil the good name of this respectable trading company and its owner.

Just after the end of the tournament there was another thrilling affair, as one of by-standers challenged one of the fighters for a friendly fight. It wasnt just a sec and he terribly lost to the fighter, but one of this by-standers friends couldnt bear the shame of his friend and try to make the match even with shooting the fighter with laser pistol. Big gunfight emerged among him and pit guards, but he and his friend both managed to escape.

After this, and as nothing else interesting was happening, all of remaining by-standers get back to the bar to get their drinks, and chat about the fights.

Michaelh139: well we were advertising, but we didnt want too much publicity, because of bombers and thieves (and others who could spoil this event)... may be next time, when we have some security, we can advertise it more in open... but still we were spreading the word in some towns, but mostly to our friends and other trusted persons... and by the way, the whole credit for organising this wonderful event goes to Puzan... I am just making a little report, so other people can read about it

I think you are quite alright. (for making absolutely sure, consult a therapist  ;D )
But the thing is: a moderator or maybe a GM transferred your thread to another sub-section for a special reason.
My guess is, they do not want to have player-run events on the 'events' forum section .
That is: they absolutely positively encourage player-run events, but do not want to risk the average
forum user to confuse them with real, GM-run (if you like 'official') ones.
But there's nothing wrong with your thread, that's for sure  ;)
And the event idea was great as well. Let's all big it up for Puzan, people.

and I am glad theres nothing wrong with my head, thats for sure  ;)

but even though... I dont get it, why this topic cannot be in the Events section, if it is truly an event...
Wheres the difference if the event is made by GM or by players themselves? From my point of view the player-made events are even better for gaming community, from my point of view GMs have to support this and not to push it away just because it is not "official"...

why isn´t there a seperate "Player for Player - events" section as a compromise ?
"game discussion" seems the wrong place for that. even more than "events" in the eyes of a dev, gm or moderator was..
"gang issuses" don´t fix that problem i guess.

I support your idea but it belongs here, as all player-driven events.

Events
The place, where official ingame events are announced and managed.

Good luck with that and good idea, by the way ! :)

It feels so good to be right  ;D
But well, at least we now know the actual reason and don't have to worry why
the thread was relocated.

There should be way more events like this in fonline. Great idea from puzan!
BTW why I didn't read anything about illegal betting. Isn't that strongly recommended
when it comes to illegal pit fights? "Hey i bet 50 caps on that longhaired dude"

If you guys need some guards in your next event, or just some loud supporters besides the ring, feel free to contact me.
I'm member of an european Anti PK faction with some men in arms. We like to encourage events, and RP too.
