Fallout Online

Roachor:
Ha as if interplay would rip off 2238. Rip off what exactly? There's nothing groundbreaking or original going on here and they sure as hell aren't making a top down isometric game.

Slaver Snipe:
Gordulan does have a pretty good point, and lets be honest Interplay has had alot of financial troubles so they probably will gear it to the masses who enjoyed F3 and not as much to those that enjoyed the first two but still it will be a few years before its out so lets keep making FOnline better while we wait to see if its going to be shit or not.

Izual:
I revive this thread for some news...

Some guy in The Vault gathered news posts by Chris Taylor about Fallout Online. It's pretty interesting.

See the last part? Well, it could really apply to FOnline. I mean, it's the main idea of traits. Right now there are traits that everyone take, some that no one take, but all are quite superficial. With traits that would change the character in a deeper way, we could really see some "classes" appear.

Sius:
Well they can make some real money on this game thanks to F3 but I don't think the money will be worth it. There are simply too many good MMOs coming and I doubt that theirs FOnline will bring anything new to the market. MMOs like TERA, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Secret World and Guild Wars 2 will rule the internet when they are out. Especially GW2 with their "singleplayer" subscription.

Badger:
There will be lots of PvP, but that won't be the only activity.
There will be restrictions. Our vision of PvP requires player consent.
PvP can occur pretty much anywhere in the world, but not all players can partake in PvP. This goes beyond the /duel command; there is a whole different system in play here. It's not the old EQ-style PVP switch. It's something new. We're just not ready to give details at this time.
If you heavily commit to PvP, you will be rewarded. It will be risky, but the rewards are designed to make it worthwhile. If you'd like to dabble in PvP, you will still be rewarded and won't risk as much. We hope to entice more people to be involved in PvP, without making it a requirement.
