Starting up
« on: January 07, 2010, 04:47:02 am »

I'm trying to get Fonline up and running on my computer. I was getting "MASTER.DAT NOT FOUND" so I pointed fonline.exe correctly to the master and critter data files from Fallout 2. Now I'm getting "FONLINE.DAT NOT FOUND" even though it is in the folder with fonline.exe. What do I need to do?

Uhm, if it says FOnline.dat not found.... did you changed the "FonlineDataPath=.\data" entry too? If yes, revert it.

I found this in fonline.cfg:

# Ïóòü äî ðåñóðñîâ FOnline.
FonlineDataPath=.\data

Is that what you mean? I didn't change that at all.

(...) Now I'm getting "FONLINE.DAT NOT FOUND" even though it is in the folder with fonline.exe. What do I need to do?

Search for PatchDatPath var in FOnline.cfg and change value to fonline.dat

Code: [Select]
PatchDatPath=fonline.dat
This can happen if your client installation doesn't have FOnline.cfg - client is looking for fopatch.dat, but displaying error message about fonline.dat. However, it looks that some older versions uses "fopatch.dat" name (and this name is stored in .cfg and hardcoded into .exe file) but updater etc. uses "fonline.dat"

I hope you understand at least half of this post ::)

Haha, your post made sense. I checked the cfg and the line you showed is in there like it should be, so that doesn't seem to be the problem. Still confused...

If nothing is showing under "Actual server status" then just hit F5(refresh). ;D
