Haha, nice.

Oh well, it's just ANOTHER band that is still avoiding Poland in their tours, only to eventually arrive here to say (most likely, they always do this) 'we love you, you're awesome audience, we should've came here earlier!' (yeah right...)

Oh lol. High Violet? Wasn't their best one in my opinion. :o
The Boxer was good, but best songs are still this and this. It has just so much meaning.

Also, speaking of the national and their influences, Joy Division Fans out there? Or general fans of Post Punk? I heard in Poland this genre is pretty famous.

Yeah, I've heard that with High Violet they break into the mainstream, which is funny because the music is nothing really different, and yes, Boxer is still better.

Joy Division? Sure, there was even a project with covers from polish-alternative bands. Called "Warszawa: Tribute to Joy Division"

About postpunk in general, we've had strong punk movement in Poland, natural consequence is that bands like this emerged. From the rest of the world, I love "From the lion's mouth" album from The Sound.

Well if it comes to punk, I need to link to Refused.

Quote
The band released five EPs and three albums before splitting up in 1998. Kerrang!  placed The Shape of Punk To Come  at #13 on their 50 Most Important Albums Of All Time list.[1]  The album has also been named by some critics as the greatest hardcore album of all time.[2]  Several months of heavy touring and internal stress culminated the band's dissolution in 1998, after their final show in the United States was dismantled by police.

here's something I stumbled upon when on youtube, it's hilarious how the violiinist holds his instrument, and the blank look on the drummers face.

The music is what matters, not the funny stuff. ;)

They were obviously aiming at the story being told more than music if you ask me.
