Question about multiple players on same IP
« on: May 28, 2010, 05:14:41 am »

I understand you cannot play more than one account at a time. My question is If there was more than one person playing this game on the same IP do you automatically ban/jail them.

I read on another topic that the devs have a way of trying to find if you are the same player on both accounts.

My stepfather just got into this game and I would hate to try and play this and be punished.

Are there any newer rules for more than one person playing on the same IP?

I'm wondering this too.

I read somewhere that a GM messages both of them and expects a simultaneous answer or some sort of test.

If you are dual-logging, a GM will test both of you to see if you are two players or not. So don't be afraid =)

Just to clarify here... Being one person using two accounts, by whatever means, at the same time is not allowed?

Hi guys. I'm pretty sure I'm on topic here...
Despite all the sugestions and the "getting started tips", and faq's, and everything here, what if at some point I realise that I've made myself a sucky character that just can't hack it and I want to just give him/her up and make myself a new one. Is that posible? (I ain't plain for money, fame or glory - just for fun - so multiple accounts is the last of my... goals or needs). Isn't it posible to just "rub out" permantly a character and get starded with a new one?
(I haven't found an answer to this one, so if there is one aroung here, don't shoot).

You can have as many characters as you want, you only can't:
 - Have two or more characters logged in at the same time.
 - Fast relog between many characters (avoid usual 10 minute relog timeout).

If you want to delete your character and create a new one with the same name, you cant use command:
~deleteself [password]
and logout for 4 minutes to let the character disappear from game.

Thank you for your answers!
That leaves me now, with two issues:
1. Do I have to log in with the character I want to delete first and write as you've said above, " ~deleteself [password] " or do I have to write "~deleteself [username]_[password] " (as the message in the game came back to me) and I can delete my other 2 (or 3 ) characters that I won't be using anymore (can't seem to find a right combinations of skills, straits or "SPECIAL"s to my liking) while logged in as another?
2. I do have a brother, we have the same ISP, and ISP account (since we pretty much live under the same roof) but differnt computers. So, IT MAY be very possible at some point for both of us to be logged in at the same time (he hasn't started playing the game yet)... is that ok?

1. Connect on every char you wish to delete and, while you're logged on that char, write the command that Jovanka wrote ( ~deleteself yourpassword ).

2. Yes, it is ok, but don't go AFK while you're both logged in. If a GM spots you, you will be tested to check if you are two humans or not, and if one of you is sleeping but has his char still logged in you will probably get banned.

Oh shit, this just reminded me of a friend of mine who accidentaly left his account logged in at ncr...  he had equipment like a gun and leather jacket, after that no one has seen him ever.  Is it possible he was banned?  And if so for how long?
