Any "Skaters" out there? (be it Inlineskates/Skateboard/or even BMX)
Surf:
Hello.
As the topic says, I just wanted to know if there are some "skaters" out there.
I for one pretty much took my life to the skateboard a few years ago. That was the best time of my life, going out every day, regardless if it's sunny or rainy, only thing that counted was my wooden board and my friends. Right now, after several years of non-skating, I found out that I'm still able to do a few tricks. :D But mostly alone, noone really cares about skateboarding at the moment. But, It also helps me to relax a bit. So, is anyone of you doing some skateboard stuff? Or, as I said some BMX/Inlining?
Gunduz:
Yeah I actually just got a new board a few weeks ago. I wasn't ever any good in the first place, but it's still so much fun to ride around, especially that feeling you get going down a huge hill when you're not sure if you'll be able to stop successfully. The biggest thing about me riding my skateboard is that the university I go to is very proper and generally doesn't approve of things like that. I even have one of my friends begging me to stop riding in public, but there's no way I'd ever listen to him. I guess for me, it's more about not abandoning everything I loved as a child and avoiding turning into the stuck up people at my school.

Skate or die! ;D
I love skateboarding. I brought my deck with me to my university too. People do look strange at me when i reply on question like 'what were you doing yesterday?' with 'I was skateboarding till it got so dark i couldn't see'. My girlfriend wants to learn to skate so i have to ride a lot to remind myself all those tricks. (i started skating a long time ago, then quit, then came back to it). But unlike You Surf Solar- i barely can do anything, i olie a bit like a noob. Cant kickflip yet :-[ got old i guess.. But its a shitload of fun so i'm gonna practice. Great to have some skaterz here :) btw- have you tryied BMXing?

Eheheh, good to read some similar stories to mine.
Yes, I just love the feeling, moving through the city, or even down a hill, feeling the asphalt under your wheels, it gives a bit of "freedom", even if it sounds silly.
And no, lol, I'm far away from beeing good. :D I'm just able to do some average kickflips, some Shove Its etc, if I have a good day I'll do a heelflip from one out of 100 tries...
Also, I'm more into "oldschool" skating. Jumping down everywhere you can (even though I've never made it down more then a set of stairs of 5 steps), making wheelies for long distances, doing flat tricks etc. Doing downhill sessions while sitting on the deck, w/ 20 friends was insane fun. It felt like the street belongs to you. :D Doing ollies out of little handmade ramps was also awesome.

Exactly. It's some type of "attitude" people who never skated'll never understand. :)
And yes, I tried the BMX, had some good times, but compared to a skateboard it was too clumsy and not so comfortable for me...
We even took our old skateboards, dismantled the trucks from it and went to some hills at winter. ;D The one who made it till the end of the snowy hill was a king, I never managed it to get down there. :/ :D
