Install help
« on: May 20, 2010, 09:56:23 pm »

Ok, I'm new to this. Would someone please help me out on installing this. I've downloaded the client, but what do I need to do to get the game working? How to I link the download with the Fallout 2 game file?

I've read it a few times. Problem is I can't find anything that says updater or anyway to get the master & critter files from the disc to wherever it needs to go.

ok, nevermind. I think i fixed it. I just had to reinstall the client and let it do its thing. For some reason I thought I had to manually locate the files and transfer them. Thanks for the help, this one gets chalked up to my ignorance.

Install FO2, update it to the latest official release and than install FOnline again.
The files were possible edited in an update.
The US, German and French versions have latest version 1.02D, the UK version (no children) has 1.02E as latest version.
I don't know about versions for other languages.
Google for the latest official patch for your version.

Once FO2 is installed and updated you can use that installation to get the files from during the FOnline installation.
Choose the option to copy them into the FOnline installation directory and do the same for the sound and music.
That way you have all the files needed for FOnline in 1 directory and you don't depend on other directories or installations.
