NPC vedors stop being morons who buying everything
« on: April 27, 2010, 11:22:49 am »

Is it boring to scroll NPC's stock list and don't know it's scrolling or not, because list don't changing, because you see there 483765384 radios or 5476834 10mm pistols or 3453458 BB guns in a row. Or when you see 10k needler cartriges and 5k BBs at shop, you think what an idiot must be that trader to buy this all.
Suggestion:
If trader has more than 8 units of the same type of weapon or more than 800 of the same type of ammo (80 for rockets) or 40 drugs/medicaments, he'll say "No thanks, I don't need more." or buy it, but for only 10% of it's price.

Then atleast make limit for unstackable items, so weapon/radio/armor, etc.

Good auggestion. Every sane trader would tell one to get lost if that person comes there and wants to swap 526482 pieces of junk in exchange for that shiny rifle over there. It shouldnt be allowed to swap humongous amounts of crap to get a single good item. Therefore are a caps, the currency in the wasteland.

Being able to swap crap for good stuff requires the barter skill. It is pretty much the entire point of it now.

All that we need is to lower the respawn rate of the traders, which will get done sooner or later, then the trader lists will become shorter naturally.

Gah, My problem with vendor's is that i can't get enough cap's that match my laser rifle's price.. The 30 Second timer is a bit crappy if you have to hold the left mouse button to get the amount of cap's you want..

So caps, the "money of the wasteland" is nearly useless now?  :-\
Or is junk/needlers catridges etc the new caps?

raise your barter skill to increase timer.

Yes i agree that traders shouldnt buy more then some amount of items. I would also want radios to be on the same list. Why all of them are separated anyway?

Caps allow you to trade inbetween the different trader types without Barter skill. If anything I'd say they were so vital that they were too readily available.

There're alot NPCs who will buy my cartriges for max. price, and I don't need others, so I don't see any point to raise my barter skill. So I use cartriges as caps to buy .223 pistols, .223 ammo, MFCs (then resell to players for twice price) or exchange for caps, so I can store it at bank.

Then you're playing the system at their expense, congrats.

Although needler cartridges are one of those things I need to tinker with the recipe for, need HQ materials adding to them as they are level 2 item.

Yes, that's what I was talking about, and also crafting CD, it's only ~5 minutes? Kidding? .223 FMJ gives 290 XP and CD is around 35-36 minutes (before update, don't know how much now), while cartriges 280 XP and 12 minutes CD before update and now 5 minutes... omg.

I support the "stacking" idea.

When you seel a damaged weapon/armor to NPC it automatically repairs after buy and stack with others. No more huge list issue  :)
