Weapon attachments & other stuff
Ombra:
Usually people get only a weapon specialization, I see no reason 'cause someone would switch from range to melee if he's a small gunner
Mars Sultan:
These are for when the Van Buren "helmets" and stances are introduced. I know, that may be a long time from now, but who are we kidding? None of the suggestions in this subforum will ever get implemented anyway. Might as well have some fun playing pretend developer.
Nightvision goggles: Equivalent to-hit bonus of +1 PE during nighttime, -1 during daytime; can be switched on or off.
Sun goggles: Equivalent to-hit bonus of +1 PE during daytime, -1 during nighttime.
Radio Transceiver: It's a radio headset. On your head.
Metal/Combat helmet: +10/20 AC vs. headshots. Can be possibly upgraded with built in NVG/Sun goggles/Radio transceiver.
Bipod: Can be attached to any assault rifle or MG; +10% to-hit and narrows the burst cone. Only works while prone.
Foregrip: Can be attached to any SMG; narrows the burst cone.
Barrel Extender: Can be attached to any gun; +5 to range. Weapon degrades faster.
Duckbill: Can be attached to any shotgun; widens the burst cone considerably.
Grenade Launcher: Can be attached to any AK-112. Shoots 40mm grenades at a cost of 5 AP each (2 AP to reload) with 25 range, 20-30 explode damage, and a slightly reduced blast radius from handheld frag grenades. No, I don't know how the Fallout engine will handle two types of ammo at once in a weapon. That tends to happen when you make an MMO out of a 12 year old game.
Applying a modification to a weapon requires the same level in crafting skill it takes to craft that particular weapon. For example, you need Small Guns 1 to attach a foregrip to a 10mm SMG, Big Guns 2 to attach a bipod to an M60, etc. Isn't this fun?

We will not add stances to 2238.
More weapon attachements could be done already now, as it's just a new weapon (you use item X on weapon A and get weapon B). So there is no need to have 3d models as requirements.
Cheezy:
that sounds good.
I like to see big variety of attachments, with advantages and disadvantage modification to weapon.
Be nice have big range of selection of what to add to my weapons.
Sense something already can be done know, is it something you dev's thinking about.
Think this be great addition to the game.
Desert Pilot:
It's lovely to have a large variety of upgrades to make your weapon characteristic to you. Maybe there could be choices of upgrade and the player could make his weapon to be more accurate OR more efficient OR more impact BUT not all of them. This would make weapons individual to each player and suit their needs.
I'd love to see armor upgrades too :3
