Hi all !

I am a big fan of fallout world. I want to try this FOnline projet.

I've done this:
- instalation of Fallout 2
- download of the client
- client instalation
- patch
- delete the cach file & modification of the config
- launch

I have a windows with a big "Get Ready"
It closes, and nothing else.

Check your resolution in the config file or via the config tool. It should be 800x600 or 1024x768.

i dont get a log of what happend. I just get a gray box open then close.

In the FOnline.cfg file, find the line "PatchDatPath=fonline.dat" and change it to "PatchDatPath=faction.zip". and then be sure to save!
DAT files entered deprecation stage, whenever a .zip file with the same name is downloaded, the corresponding .dat can be deleted. In addition, fonline.dat is deprecated.

I changed the resolution from 1024x768 to 800x600 and it worked.

It seems 1024x768 has some problem.

Maybe you have an older graphics card with low amount of memory? Anyways, good that it's working now.

By the way, I created 5 years ago a "Ultima Online" based server where the story is in the future: Although its not linked with "Fallout", I've included some "arts" from "Fallout. I named the game "Technphobia". So here is for fun a kind of thing that happens when mixing the 2 games:

I have the F2 instaled, with a patch for read all in spanish (This patch includes the UK 1.2 update).

May this patch cause problems? I just reinstall Framework, i have copy the master and critter archives to Fonline, i revised the conection address and port.. And my problem is still the same, grey windows pop up and then, again in the desktop with the launcher window.

Im downloading the last version of my GT8500, but if this doesnt work, maeby the problem its the "spanish" fan version for read all text of F2, so if with the reinstall without that patch, Fonline works, ill post again and copy and advice for the rest of spanish players.

Thanks, now i can make a new character but i cant still play, a error message apears about my login or password, but i use the Ctrl key for read my password and all is ok, i try too to dont use capital letters when i create my character, but it doesnt work.

Ill read again all the post here, because i supose that this error isnt new

EDIT: Lol... I selected a character name that already exist xD That was the connection problem! Anyways thanks for help =)

I have the same problem. Gray Screen for second, then shutdown.

In the FOnline.cfg file, find the line "PatchDatPath=fonline.dat" and change it to "PatchDatPath=faction.zip".

I did that, now theres Gray Screen for second, then Loading Screen for second and then it shutdown -.-'.

 Well, hi  smoothskins. I just made this account to tell my problem, and, well, wait for a quick answer, because i'm in my depressions days, and my grud are FOnline.

 Well, first, i got te grey screen. But, for the ones witht his inssue,insue, cant' remember the gramatic, just go to Fonline.cfg and change PatchDatPath=FOnline.exe to PatchDatPath=faction.zip.

 I just didi this. And i had one of the most awesome times ever, traveling throught the wasteland, etc. BUT,the destiny is a bitch, so, i got a new problem. A new grey screen. When i click play, it gives me about 1 second of the gamesd's intro images, and then, go grey and quit. ( It appears like he Vault boy with guns, the mad eman, or the old guy in the machine, kinda that.).

 Well, i can't find a way to solve this. My grafic drivers are Okay, Direct X too, well, this problem just came too quick to figure out it's reason. Hope to have help.

 Oh, and, i already here, i want to say to the admins that they did a great work.

Ok when I try to update I get a meesage that says "downloading data/scripts/client_parameters.dll and then Unable to save file" the text on the launcher says to create the folder scripts in /data, but i have no idea what this means or how to go about doing it. can anyone tell me what to do?

When i go to launch the game it goes to loading screen for one second then crashes and this it what it says in the log

how do i fix this i got rehooked on the fall out series last month when i found my fallout 3 game of the year addition and finally installed it as well as my fall out 2 disc  and wanted to play online also all of my drivers all up to date and i did the config fix for faction.zip really want to play i am using windows 7 64 bit

 Lol, i just got this problem these times. Go to Data and create the Script file yourself. Like this ;

 data/scripts

Then, upload again, and now should work. If it work, comeback here and say so, right ?
