Learn to Let Go: How Success Killed Duke Nukem
« on: December 22, 2009, 04:08:44 pm »

This is a pretty good read about Duke Nukem and history. Everyone who is doing some work with creating games, might read over it and learn. :P

Is this clever way of telling us to shut up and wait patiently? :)

No, it's just a thread about a good article that has been posted in the Off-Topic board.

Hah... I remember that. The N64 version was horrible.

I will never let go of my love for the Duke, he's the game version of Chuck Norris, and if he tells me to wait forever for his newest game, I'll do so.
Always bet on Duke. :D

Story very similar to Daikatana, so you might like the book "Masters of Doom" about history of id Software (and Ion Storm).

It was similar in some sense, but Daikatana didn't drag on for years and years, they only changed engine once, from Quake 1 to Quake 2 engine. The book is a good read though, I highly recommend it.
