Author Topic: The Toughness Perk: Can we have the original back or make the new one 3 ranks  (Read 1072 times)

I don't know about everyone else but one of my favourite perks has gotta be Toughness, and the new Toughness now only gives 5 DR and 2 DT, it may give DT but it just isn't like it was before and it only has 2 ranks now. I was told on the IRC that 30 DR with no armour was a bit much but you have to consider the amount of damage Pkers do. For some normal player who just bought metal armour Mk 2 and say is levle 9 and has say 87 HP is in an unguarded town like Broken Hills, he could walk out feeling pretty tough but then some random pker comes on the map with a minigun and bursts him for like 105 Dmg. You say the original toughness was too much but the thing is that it only gives Normal DR and that it gives no threshhold so on its own its not that good. Even with good armour like metal armour Mk 2 you still can't survive something like a minigun or Rocket lancher without heaps of hp. Even if you got the new Toughness you still would take basicly the same damage. The original toughness was pretty good if you had armour with it but also it dose not affect the other resistances such as plasma or explode or fire. And for the people who think Small guns are overpowered this would be good for them. This would also make Armour pircing rounds more useful and give people a bit more of a defence from Pkers. It would also make it easier for people to take on ecounters such as those raiders with assult rifles and also is useful for people who don't have really good armor such as leather armour or leather jackets since not everyone has Combat Armour.

Current toughness is useful as it is. There's no need to buff already good perk.

Besides, the old 3x 10% damage res was overpowred. You could solo a vault city patrol because their shots didn't do any damage.

Based on evidence collected from various sources by trustworthy attendees it is undisputed veritability that the land ravaged by atomic warfare which caused extreme change of the ecosystem and environmental hazards can be considered unpleasant, rugged and unforgiving.

True. I once rolled a big gunner and I could take a whole caravan down as you said - toughness is just a "permanent" armor and now it's "fixed". :)

Well The Original Toughness is Cool, But Its pretty much too powerfull. Maybe they should increase The damage of JHP. so it does more effective damage to people with Toughness.

But also isn't that the reason for AP ammo and they could just give more npcs AP ammo or more npcs could use something like a plasma pistol or flamer instead? Because toughness only gives DR to the Normal Damage type, not to every damage type so you could take no damage from an assult rifle but get seriously owned by a rocket or plasma pistol.
