Injury encounters.
« on: May 10, 2013, 01:28:31 pm »

I'd like to suggest humanoid NPCs in encounters having random HP stats and injuries.
Doctors can heal them, slavers and hunters can use their tactic advantages.

That's very reasonable...... but consider that combined they nearly always have more hps, aps, and firepower than the pc.

Not easier,more organic.

Then again they are pretty easy and this might make them too easy.

Maybe they should drop their weapons and flee?

It's not about difficulty level.
You can encounter a hunting party after a fight, of course they would be scratched up. But not all the time.

And maybe sometimes fresh off the fight and ready for more (ie less easy even [dare I say it?!] diffivult)......

Player will leave the encounter and search for another, really, think sometimes guys.
I know this maybe a cool idea, but for farmers it would be a just leave -- find crippled patrol, farm --> go to base--> repeat.
That's just easily abusable idea.
Don't even start talking about cooldowns for encounters or I'll laugh off.

I understand tomowolf's concern about game difficulty but I have to admit that I like the game to be realistic and in that case, it makes sense.
But if the idea was ever coming up some day, I don't think it would be that easy to find crippled patrol or so.
In my opinion, it would just be an appreciable detail that you could notice from time to time in the game but nothing you could abuse of.

It won't ruin game, just make it more easier, making the hole between crafting balancing and farming balancing even bigger.

First, who in Wasteland might get scratched up more: a lone traveller with a knife or a heavily armed patrol? My guess it will be the first one.

Everyone else can patch each other up, especially when military organisations, like NCR, BoS or even Master's army can have their medics.

Lone injured persons woudn't probably have this luxury but then again, are they worth farming? So forget the issue with balance. This suggestion is of purely humanitary nature of a wasteland doc, so let dem devs read it, maybe it get in the game somehow.
