Flagpole.

An idea for a new in-game object: A flag pole.
So you (a player) is out on the wastes or a city or wherever when you find something interesting. You drop a flsg pole from you inventory so you can come back for it later with the proper tools.

Flagpoles "should" be visible to all on the worldmap, which means teher's a 50/50 chance when you get back of somethign you didn't nesessarily want to find there (eitehr another player, npcs, BTOH, whatever), but if you can fight it out (or maybe strike a deal with them), you could recover the item/s in question.......

on the worldmap, the flagpole would show up as a sideways trinagle, on the ground as one of the ncr smalll flags, (the ones ouside of the sheriffs office), as to in your inventory i dunno.

I forgot to say.......
It could also be used for temporary sites; for example, a player-merchant who wants to open their shop up to the public during their on-line time, bbut close it off to the world during off-line time (casue' it'd REALLY suck to get base raped for doing good). since, bluntly put, npc merchants cheat, and pc merchants keep it fair, it seems only right that that's the way it would work.

also forgot to say.... it would be temporrary, as in "not permenant". it cou,d only be up, for, say, a half hour, then itd automatically be destroyed (and the player who left it would be sol to retreive it). anyone that shows up 'could' take it, removinv it from the map entirely, but npc's can't take them, so it would stay up until time expires or a player removes it.

On the worldmap this sounds like something radio distress can already do; however if you could "self-distress" with this flagpole it would help players with loot recovery and decrease alting. It would be great too for footlocker hunting or lost car keys.
