Personalized Cars?

I've been sharing cars and bases with some friends lately and realized how hard it is to distinguish between two cars of the same type. Unless you use science on it or check trunk contents it's impossible to tell which one is yours. Some of us may say it's not very important thing to implement, but I think (and many people would agree I hope:)) it would be a great feature. For example:
- using First Aid on a car would give it a big number from 1 to 9 visible on its roof
- using Doctor would change numbers color
I suggested FA and DOC skills because repair and science is already used as far as cars are concerned. Just like with craftable lockers using particular skill would change items sprite. I don't know game engine enough to say whether we would need separate sprites for each color or a transparent number would suffice.
We all have permament routes like: mine - crafters camp, main base - navarro or ares, trading rounds, maybe even cars assigned to certain chars. Just think how awesome would it be to know which car is ready to which route just by looking at them.
Please share your thoughts on the idea.

Im totaly for this. And an option to write some short text that would be visible after googling the car would be awesome.

Each and every slight modification of each car sprite in number-on-roof or colour would require different sprites from each angle cars can be parked at.
It may sound simple to you but in-engine it's probably a lot more difficult to do on the fly and would require a ton of recolour presets with each number 1-9.

That's why giving names to our cars sounds easier, because of the car's number. Maybe I am wrong though.
