Author Topic: Randomized blueprints given when the char as a very high science skill  (Read 1378 times)


When the character have more than 200 in science (or 300), he could get a random blueprint, in order to keep it fair, make it so there's a different chance for every blueprint (High end stuff is rarer than lower one).
And since the wastelands can't be harsh enough, don't be afraid to add blueprints that can't be crafted anyway, it will simulate the stupidity of some inventors.

This way everyone can be happy, blueprints hunters can still do their job, and idiotic people who makes high science characters like me can still gloat around because they can do something really useless.

A blueprint for Gauss Pistol pops up from nowhere in you inventory when you hit 200% science ?

Better tie BPs to NPC faction reward system.

Science  a lot of  Gauss Pistol (10 ???) and you get the blueprint  :D

Well maybe you should be more clear, because I've read and re-read this and I can't come to any conclusion of what you mean besides what Sarakin said. Get a random blueprint from who then once you have X% skill? How?

Reach the skill and all of a sudden this blueprint appears in your inventory?
Something that such character probably can't even use?
I don't see much point to this really, and wouldn't make much sense if you have no professions yet a Metal Armor Mkii blueprint just suddenly appears.
Even if it was just instantly in your Fixboy... well, you get it.

Dumb Dumb suggested that it wouldn't be possible to gain uncraftable item blueprints and he thinks Sarakin didn't understood the main principle because of mentioning an uncraftable item in his understanding of the feature.

OP just messed up in his head.

Yeah he doesn't express much sense.

Well, sorry but expressing an idea is not always easy. And thanks for the google translate joke T-888, it goes right to my heart.


What I suggested was to be pondered and rebalanced, by blueprints I didn't meant the actual blueprints (for then it could be abused and sold/given to another player), but the effects (a random (un)craftable item in the fixboy).

By uncraftable things, I meant the things that you cannot craft because the requirements are unavailable in the game (such as chemicals.)

And no, I don't see where I misexpressed myself, nor where I used an highly incorrect english.

Gauss pistol was just an exaggeration, still if youre trying to say that there should be other means how to obtain BPs, I totally agree, just your proposition seems not so good.
