A installation tutorial
« on: December 11, 2012, 10:03:03 pm »

After seeing countless threads about people who don't know how to install the game i decided to suggest this.
Make a detailed tutorial with lots of pictures on how to install the game, how to create paths to master.dat and critter.dat. This is mainly because when you tell someone to "set paths to critter and master" they are likely not gonna know what you are talking about.
Also fix the bugged updater,it never finishes downloading faction.zip this has caused a lot of problems to new players and has been her since forever.
If it can't be fixed then remove it form the updater and create a separate download to it that will be in a "how to install" thread.

Obviously they wouldn't read it....
There is a thread or something already, how else do you think the rest of us figured it out?  Basically its a mixture of laziness and stupidity, both of which are in great abundance.

It's all really about suppression of dissension, consensus through censorship.  Whether through extermination of those who have different or conflicting viewpoints or subtle spin of available media.  If there is only one opinion left, it must be right, right?

Well there are threads that try to point of out what people should do but there could be something that is included with the client.
But I agree sometimes stupidity is related to it.
However I stand by my suggestion with the faction.zip thing.

It is, in the first point:

"1. Download the client here. If you have a problem with running it, try pre-configured client."
