It's fairly simple, once the car/trunk is lockpicked it should be possible to lock it again by using Lock on it.

Additionally, if you have a key in active slot, that key will be assigned to car/trunk.

This will allow us to lock our precious cars after we locked our keys inside or lost them.

I like this better, but at the same time I feel like the car should stay unlocked forever. I'd say that most of the picked cars belong to thieves anyway, so not allowing them to lock the vehicle means that they're up for a little karmatic justice if they leave their car somewhere.

Or why not just make a heat signature device coded in DA-vinci code, where you have to discover the square root of pie, and then to finish opening the tumblers, find the fountain of youth and drink from it with the holy grail! Seriously guys... why not just be more careful with your vehicles...
