I definitely think shotguns need another type of ammo (AP)  and more damage maybe even a new shotgun like the AA-12 the knockback buff is amazing, if only shotguns had no sneak penalty.

Disease:
AA-12:
single shot - 2AP
burst - 8 shells - 6AP
required str 1 (lol)
1/1000 chance blueprints will be AA-12

Blerter:
so with fast shot the gun singles at 0 AP and with Brof it's -1 so you gain 1 AP per shot... :/

Better would be

AA-12:
Range:12
Burst count:12
Damage single:18-28 or 20-30 or 22-32
st required:5 or 6
AP single: 5
AP burst: 6
Clip size: 12 or 24
Ammo 12ga's or slugs (slugs -20 or -35 DR)

+1 those stats sound about right but it sounds quite powerful make the magazine 12 rounds for 1 burst only and that will sound perfect
