I rather see someone changing one line in some code and be thankful for that, but not just few permanent bans given that serve no real purpose in the grand scheme of things, rules are just arbitrary restrictions that aren't enforced daily here in this game and can't be taken seriously because some developer got bored and decided to give some permanent bans out of blue, thanks for nothing for the countless time.

There is always the option to replace "cheating" and discourage it by smart features, we wouldn't need more game masters if developers of this game actually worked upon existing issues. Like who wants to be a game master? It's utterly pointless in every imaginable way. Player stuck? Might be a smart idea to implement some command for the player to deal with that himself. Gangs use multiple logs and sneakers all over the map? Implement something a bit more easy to replace those sneakers than level up them as a necessity, so others can have a similar advantage without breaking the rules nobody takes seriously anyway if others still use those sneakers ... http://fodev.net/forum/index.php/topic,25356.msg213632.html#msg213632

Basic common sense, we don't need more game masters, we need more people who works on the server itself. More game masters is like adding more duct tape to an already fixed mechanical device that is holding with duct tape, temporary fixes the problem, but doesn't really solve it. More smart features, less need for duct tape.

Did it broke again? Currently only more duct tape is applied.

Dual log partially allowed to what it was in previous session, now duct tape is used a lot less because there is less need for it.

It might seem unjust for you but those who don't cheat see that someone still cares about them. Banning cheaters is respectful action towards those who don't cheat.

It's just a bit hard to suggest something big because we have no clue how busy devs are working on something else.

That sure works towards the quality of the server and solves the issue why the ban was delivered in the first place.

We really need more GMs. Have been trying the in-game command for a few months now, no reply, although sometimes someone got my requests but never answered. Yeah-yeah, I know "use the IRC" blah-blah.

Anyway, to put some sense in this thread, people we asked not so long ago said "no", and currently there is no other candidates.


As a sidenote, Killy posting "troll detected" makes me laugh :]

lol who have u asked by the way ? i dont think that u have asked players that have their own hex at ncr lmfao :P say some names , man even players who coud it wouldnt accept it thats harsh not wasteland man , like i have said befor it would be better to see more events and shit like this like others did said it here more presence = more fun ...
but at this whole thread i finally recognize that more than half of fonline players are really trolls imo...

It doesn't matter who - they answered already, i see no reason to make them answer again, this time to players. Until they want to, but then again i see no reason to confirm if given person really was asked or not.

And I also agree with this:

I personally think the game is not perfect but I can have a lot of fun from it. Having more GMs and therefore more events and even some weird/funny but not abuse-related situations from time to time would be awesome for me. Dear hardcore PvP players, I am sorry to read everyday about how much the game sucks for you. Imho you are part of it with your classic "the game forces you to..." - this is an online game and "the game" here means the game features + the rest of players. So as said, I think you're all part of what you complain about.

I suggest people to think thoroughly a event concept, catch a GM in IRC and ask him to help out with material by demonstrating the plan.

A nice feature will be for GMs to grant the event organisator temporarily powers to throw scenery around on defined map without possibility to leave until end of event. (special items in containers), so the organisator can actually help a GM to decorate the event.
