Alright so after a few months of shit I've finally managed to get this game working more or less with the help of "Wipes" experimental new client thing.

Anyhow after screwing around with some files and having to download the standard client that does not work just to bum some files I was finally able to get the game to work but I am worried.
I've Registered, started and went to Gecko, no ones there except for some bitchy Ghouls so I head to Vault City and no ones there and in my travel map it has a list of people online and I am the only one.
So is this normal or did I screw up somehow?

You have right IP and port.
Town are dead all the time .People only go into town to trade or do TC.
Sometimes people are in reno but most people are at TC.
People have more character and relog them so fast and there are still troll characters with 220AC .

Go to NCR. People don't stand around in unprotected towns

And the list of people is not people online, it's people in your group or following you

Check IRC too; a lot of people socialize that way while not being in the same in-game locations.
