A little tutorial on scenery editing in FOnline.

First, you'll need proper tools.

FrameAnimator and DAT Explorer.

DAT Explorer you will need to extract .FRM files from .DAT files. FRMs can also be lying around in RAR and ZIP files in Fonline files.

So, the DAT explorer at start asks you which file you want to open, you browse the explorer-like data structure, look at names and decide what you want, then select it, then hit Shift+X to extract it wherever you want. Alternatively, you can extract everything from that file by hitting Shift+E.

Well, with that all FRM files, you can now start Frame Animator, which has a useful file with it - Defaul.act. (which is a Fallout colour palette/colour table)
The program asks you if you want to use it, click yes. I guess you want to add your own graphic, so hit Strg+A to add frames. Mind that it would be best that this should be a indexed(!) BMP file with a RBG 0-255-0-blue background.
But for now, Frame Animator will automatically apply this palette to your graphics. Sometimes it will fuck up your image, that's why i prefer to indexize images after i applied some dithering/pixelization filters on them.
Consult Photoshop tutorials to this topic.

So, now you have another frame. Somewhere. If you switch with Down and Up keys between them, you'll notice they're probably aren't in same place. To not to correct this will mean major fuckup of the graphic in game, e.g. objects trashing around or hovering in places where they aren't supposed to be, people jerking widly while moving, etc.
This issue is called offset and NMA modders can sing you a song about it.

To this, later.

Yep. That will be probably very useful. I'm still delving on it and that's why i'm not going to write a tutorial about it yet.

However. If you can render a picture from a 3d model, you can also edit it in Photoshop and put it in a .FRM. Maybe batch something together with autoclicker, so it does stuff automatically... Yes, theoretically a lot is possible. Haven't tried it yet. Maybe later.

Back to our basic stuff.

Offsets. These are values for picture coordinates on XY coordiantes, using the point in the middle of the lower edge of a picture as reference, the framE offset and framES offset, the offsets for single frame and ALL frames.
By default, if you change offsets, you change all their positions, because the frame offsets are locked together.
So you have to unlock them from each other. This is done with "Edit/Options" where you uncheck "Lock Offsets". Make sure you lock them again before saving, or this will fuck them up again.

So, after unlocking the offsets, hit Ctrl+G so you can see the previous picture as red ghost, so you can adjust your picture according to previous frame. To move the frame, go to lower left corner and press that cross button, move it with your mouse. (if you haven't unchecked the "Lock Offsets", you move all offsets, all pictures. Useful, if you want to adjust all coordinates, but not in this case.)
Then, lock offsets back. Delete the original frame. Go to "File/Create FRM", select your folder and write the same filename as you opened to edit.
Voila. Now it should have been replaced, e.g. a xander root with a tree.

The major drawback of course, it will remain to be seen just by you and those you shared the file with, but you can decorate the shit out of your base/tent with enclave tech or pseudofurniture.
