one of my laptops is having some internet connection problems. it connects to the network but says it has limited access or no internet at all. i cant connect to the  internet even when am connected to my network with 5 bars. i read on google on other sites on how to fix it but am not a computer wizz and they did not give step by step instructions on how to fix. any help or tips on how to fix would be helpfull.  .

Are you sharing internet with others? Are you connected well(No lag, no bad fps, etc.)? How well is your router positioned, because that might be a cause...

no internet is only used in the house so its only me and my mom using it.
the router is fine we allready tryed to mess around with it and no change. its been in same place for awhile and has not messed up till now.

Well that is odd.
This is an issue that's only known for vista.

Your connection has a password to it right?
Have you tried unplugging both the router and modem then replugging? (This happens for me sometimes, and this works every time)
Are there any other networks?

password is correct i triple checked and i tryed unplugging both. there is one other network but it does the same thing as mine. we call are internet provider tommorow to see if its something on there side.

the drivers were never touched. nothing has installed lately. i think its actually something wrong with the connection from the provider. there was some contruction done lately by my house so i think they might have hit something. anyway we are going to call are provider tommrow and hopefully they can  do something to help us.

If it was really is ISP having trouble then all of his shit would be fucked and he wouldn't even be able to post would he?

the lap top am useing now is better then the one that is messed up so if something did go wrong when they did stuff outside my house it would make sense that the crap one is broke and the good one still works.... but i am not 100 percent sure. computers are weird things.

I used to do tech support for a wireless company I think I may know a fix.

Try going to:

Control panel
Network and sharing center
Manage Wireless Networks

And then select your router name, then click on remove.


After you do that, connect to the router as you normally would and this should work.

Basically what this does is removes any settings that was stored on the computer that is causing the issue. It basically like removing the settings, then connecting to the router for the first time. Let me if this works or come on mumble if you need futher help or if you want me to make screen shots of step by step instruction.

Scan for virues, or try disabling TCP/IP protocol.

No disabling TCP/IP well make it worse, then the router won't assign the wireless card an IP address I do not recomend doing this.
