A Question About the Event Forums
« on: August 14, 2012, 11:51:07 pm »

Are players allowed to organize their own events there? Would I be shunned for advertising a player driven, NON-GM-MANAGED events?

Thanks in advance.

Alright good to know. Thankyee.

Oh they need to be approved, lol guessing that's essentially a "no" to player driven events being advertised in the event section.

Doesn't seem many other players have suggested and/or gotten their events approved.

I approve any player events there if I see some and they don't break forum rules but sometimes I might miss it.

Oh okay awesome, so in that case I'm hoping perhaps it's just not many players are driven to host events? Hurrah, thanks for accepting the event idea.

I've noticed that player-driven events are for some reason posted in "General Game Discussions". That's where I posted to announce my "find Jake Ibarra" event.

I wanted to avoid posting there, since almost every thread I post goes WAY off topic, I figure the Events section will only attract those willing to participate, as well as the mods who sanction the events being posted. So I was hoping that by posting in the events section I would avoid be trolled off the thread.

That is because you spam the forum with hundreds of vague topics. You should make one single thread titled "The chronicles of Lost Soul" or something like that. You know, your own little thread where you can post about all the things you do ingame, a journal of sorts. It'll give more unity to your narrative, making it more solid and less trollable, which what your posts are atm. Just an advice.

That's actually what I did, but before it was even finished being written, it was trolled off. I take the advice of the people, and even then lol.

It's all good though, I don't have much urge to post anything mysterious about the wasteland anymore. Looking to create a social club at the Falcon instead now! =D

11 posts and you're surprised it was trolled? Man, get serious already. Just edit the first post and that's it... Also notice that the first one that trolled that topic was Andr3aZ, who is not one of those everyday trolololly members of this fine community...

Perhaps it wasn't the best way of doing it, but clearly I was trying to appease the community by putting it all in one thread.  In any case I have no interest in chronicling anything.

However, I did post in the suggestions a  suggestion about adding a Roleplay Forum, where people could stay in character and request groups and activities with one another, or share elaborate stories staying within the confines of his or her role or character.

I hope someday that would happen, I am truly interested in all the little stories people could potentially be sharing if they weren't almost instantly ridiculed for sharing their stories.

I know this is off topic and all, but playing DayZ, the BEST part was reading and posting stories about the game, events that happen in game, that give the game a scope that other games can't even HOPE to achieve.

Just like DayZ, FOnline is a game where STORIES are created, and I really wish the forums SUPPORTED Story-telling as an artistic medium, and not just as RP CAREBARE FAGS.

lol, so final product is a trolltopic with 11 (or well, 10) useless posts :D - And the Roleplay Subforum idea used to exist, but not for posting ingame stuff, as far as I know.

well the final product would have been a full 10 chapters of story separated by posts, but okay yes I get it, in retrospect it was a bad idea.

I've come to find that it's VERY hard to change public opinion, I come back to play and it's very hard to get back on good terms with damn near anyone, but I'm still here trying, very clearly.

And why would they remove the roleplay subforum!??! What was wrong with it? Please tell me!
