Is it possible to always stay inside my tent? Is there a vault I can join?

Horatio:
If you have 100 Outdoorsman, you can go to Gordon's gas station, speak to Tamira, act like badass (but not a dick) in the dialogue, then she will learn you to be a Ranger.

With this, you can build Houses with a workbench to craft stuff.

Giftless:
If you do crafting you could probably strike a deal with some merchant-type player; there's also a lot of low risk gathering you could do which can be converted into cash, equipment, etc.

PS, can I live my life in my room?
