Or make CD for 30 min (x5 more ore/minerals than now) and relog time for 1 hour. ;p

Crafting characters with a high IN, and science/repair that cant fight(because all skillpoints spent in science/repair) get to choose a new perk that lets them build robots to defend themselfes. No, im serious! Its just like mercs, but leave the mercs for transporters with high CH, outdoorsmen, and speech. See topik "i-dont-remember" for details about revamped merc system.
Maybe even turrets for base/town defense. The higher science/repair skill, the better robot he could build(only 1, opposed to mercs). For example the perk requirements: IN: 8, skill 100%/level 3.This perk functions just like a profession, new recipes go into the fixboy, and the character can still have 3 other professions. With this perk/profession you can build a robot dog for your self at start, then at skill 150, robobrain, etc all the way up to skill 300%, where he can build a sentry bot.
Why not? Yeah its a bit sci-fi and not very fallouty if there are million robots running around, thats true. But there ARE robots in the fallout universe, and fallout 3 had tons of them. It could also make crafter alts usefull even in pvp, thus removing the alt problem once and for all. How? Well currently crafter alts craft weapons for fighter alts, then go back to sleep to leave the fighting to his other character, thus wasting system resources, etc. With usefull crafters that can survive on their own, players wont need dedicated fighter characters. Also, other perks like mr. fix-it or whatever its called that increases science/repair would skyrocket in popularity. Note: Taking these perks renders the character combat ineffective because fighters take perks that increase their damage etc.
