In January of 2241, the first samples of jet begin to arrive in Redding, courtesy of the Mordino family. So if that's why there should be no antidote then there should be no jet as well.
Then everything is fine as it is. Who wants Jet, get's Jet. Who does not want Jet, simply doesn't get Jet. I do not see a big Deal with it.

I choose your third option, Jenova...

I hope we will see some sort of antidote (lesser ones, maybe, curing jet craving for a week etc.) in near future. Permanent jet addiction is unnecessary feature if you ask me.

Agreed. Arguments towards permanent jet addiction seem to be leaning towards the "deal with it" attitude. But guess what? Players don't "deal with" anything, they go around things. One of my chars took jet accidentally, so I deleted the char and levelled a new one. It like charisma1 not suitable for trading. Solution is to make an alt. This kind of stuff just doesn't add anything to the game, except new alts. Maybe it did in fallout 2, but even there you could load the game.

Make it like Vampirism or Corprus in Morrowind, once cured, can't be achieved, so if you by mistake took one dose of Jet and then discovered it's forever, you getting Jet Antidote by some way, may be even not repeatable quest, and then, after taking this antidote it cures your Jet addiction and makes taking Jet in future has no effect on you, so you cutting off your character from this drug forever, but also don't suffer from addiction.
This way Antidote will be useless for Jet builds and useful for those, who didn't know about addiction/took it by mistake. That's the point of all these threads about Jet. And make it not rare, anyway it'll be used only once per character per character's life. Available as BPs and at doctors.

But then there could be threads like "I accidentally took Jet antidote! And now my Jet build is screwed!" and there will be "Deal with it." :D
And someone will propose "Anti-Jet-Antidote cure!" and "Anti-Anti-Jet-Antidote".

In any way "Deal with it" suits every case. And I find this suggestion the best as it's already implemented (nothing). Using Jet is like losing virginity and fine as it is. You shouldn't be able to become virgin again.

at least there should be a gamemechanic to make it more difficult to take jet as a mistake. or even more better, implement a fucking big chainquest, that takes you two reallife weeks to complete it. receiving one piece of five needed parts after that, for the final crafting of jetantidot.. should not be tradeable, indeed  ::)
iam sure someone suggested this already in some of the threads that were closed in the last years. so nvm useless posting again :)

And when you're throwing it away you have to be careful not to press the use button instead of drop ;D
