Most types of ammo in the game can be used with multiple firearms.

223 (Sniper, LSW, 223 Pistol)
5mm (Miniguns, Assault Rifles)
10mm (SMG, Pistol, Pipe Rifle)

You get the idea.

But 45 and 9mm only get used in Grease Guns, and Mausers.  I know these weapons aren't needed, and it's not really important, I just feel like they're missing.

Pretty sure the tommygun uses .45 also, so thats 2 guns using .45. As for a 9mm SMG, why not? Make it same to mauser as 10mm SMG is to 10mm gun.

The .45 pistol sounds good to me.
Also bit offtopic but p90 was supposed to use 9mm in fallout 2 but they changed it to 10mm instead.

In both cases it's strange, as P90 uses it's own 5.7 cartridge.

You're right, it does.  I forgot about that one.

As far as more suicide bursting in NCR because of easy to get ammo, I posit that ammo availability isn't hindering anyone RIGHT NOW, with Grease Guns.  I don't think it would make anything worse, to be honest.  9mm ball stacks up pretty fast, and if the regular 9mm ammo that is in the game was introduced as a crafting item, there would be a difference in damage done between the two.

As far as the P90 using a 5.7mm cartridge... that weapon is so screwy in the game that it doesn't matter, anyway.  They hold 50 rounds, and they're made by FN (not HK), anyway.  No point in getting into that I'm afraid.

These would be newbie guns, it won't affect the larger fish swimming around the desert.


Plus grease guns are easy enough to find, this won't make NCR suiciders any faster.
