Is there at least a chance that someone halves the cooldown for a probation time or makes it possible to gather ore AND minerals before initiating cooldown?
Or make CD for 30 min (x5 more ore/minerals than now) and relog time for 1 hour. ;p

I would like it more, if you could introduce mercs into crafting cause:
1 that would raise charisma need for everyone, no 90% players has 1 charisma.
2 that will shorten your waiting that we all dislike (for example if you have 10 charisma and five mercs you will have to wait 5 times less to get same ammount)
3 that will give mercs some use, cause now they do not help anywhere except in town control (because of relation in numbers between your group and encountered group), so mercs will help for solo players too not only for tc fights interested factions.

What about that?

P.s. i wouldnt mind if only slaves for example could gather materials for you (and as we know all critters have different stats, thus able to gather different materials), as slavers are pretty much useless now.

Crafting characters with a high IN, and science/repair that cant fight(because all skillpoints spent in science/repair) get to choose a new perk that lets them build robots to defend themselfes. No, im serious! Its just like mercs, but leave the mercs for transporters with high CH, outdoorsmen, and speech. See topik "i-dont-remember" for details about revamped merc system.
Maybe even turrets for base/town defense. The higher science/repair skill, the better robot he could build(only 1, opposed to mercs). For example the perk requirements: IN: 8, skill 100%/level 3.This perk functions just like a profession, new recipes go into the fixboy, and the character can still have 3 other professions. With this perk/profession you can build a robot dog for your self at start, then at skill 150, robobrain, etc all the way up to skill 300%, where he can build a sentry bot.
Why not? Yeah its a bit sci-fi and not very fallouty if there are million robots running around, thats true. But there ARE robots in the fallout universe, and fallout 3 had tons of them. It could also make crafter alts usefull even in pvp, thus removing the alt problem once and for all. How? Well currently crafter alts craft weapons for fighter alts, then go back to sleep to leave the fighting to his other character, thus wasting system resources, etc. With usefull crafters that can survive on their own, players wont need dedicated fighter characters. Also, other perks like mr. fix-it or whatever its called that increases science/repair would skyrocket in popularity. Note: Taking these perks renders the character combat ineffective because fighters take perks that increase their damage etc.

But Mining should have stayed like it was in the Beggining. No Timeout. Those were the days, SOO Much easier to craft. gave the N00bs a fighting chance.

I bet you didn't even read the main idea of this suggestion. I know, if the topic was created by other person you, may be, said something else, but I don't really care anymore, because it's useless to create any suggestions about crafting.

Sorry, I can't modify first topic... just remembered. And login is pain.. because I can't remember exact pass.
But first post doesn't explain alot, sure.

Useless, because devs already have thier own plans and they like cooldowns.

If you're lazy, and don't want to read all this letters, you can see the last sentence to see the aim of this suggestion.


What would you expect, if it "gonna be implemented":

You'll have the same ammount of items, not more, nor less, unless for very lazy players (they will have less), or, opposite, falloutaniacs (they will have more, or the same ammount as now, depends on how they're not lazy now, because if they gathering 24/7 and crafting an item each time they got 59 minutes CD on crafting, and after this suggestion implemented they will still play 24/7 - they will have the same ammount of items, but if they simply play VERY often, but a bit less than 24/7, then they will have a bit more items, but a bit less, than pure 24/7). Because there won't be passive crafting anymore, you'll not have a time for youtube.

So.. how it's working:

You need to craft an item. For example 10mm Pistol. It requires 45% SG skill, 1 Wood and 3 Junk. Gives 54 XP.

It requires: 45% SG, 40%(or 30%) Repair, 20% outdoorsman.

CD = approximately 54/15(i'm not sure on 100%, but CD time is around XP/15=minutes) = 3.6 minutes = 3 minutes 36 seconds = X

3 Junk = 3/4 of Junk gathering CD = 90x3/4 = 67.5 seconds = Y

1 Wood = 1/5 of Wood gathering CD = 60/5 = 12 seconds = Z

Your crafting CD is setting to X+Y+Z=295.5sec=4minuntes 55seconds 500 milliseconds
You need to get exact or more than 54 XP during ANY time.

After 4minuntes 55seconds 500 milliseconds and after you get at least 54 XP you are able to get your 10mm Pistol at any workbrench. And then you're able to craft other things again by the same way.


What's bad in this suggestion?
You won't see wood, junk, electronic parts, alloys and metal parts anymore. Yes, I'll cry some minutes because of this.

What's good in this suggestion?
It'll look more like fallout, because there're not any mineral ores and alloys really.
You'll play this game, not watch youtube or creating stupid topics on forum during your "gathering".
Crafters/Fighters will have priority in playing, because if you have PvP character+Crafting alt, you'll spend more time on crafting alt, and you'll have more adventures on crafting alt, so you'll play on crafting alt, and can forget about your PvP character, because you'll find this boring.
Forces players to watch on FOnline window at 90% more, than now 5% of all time they spend on playing FOnline, because all they are doing is:
#1. Check if mouse cursor is in active hand slot icon;
-If true, run #3;
-If false, run #2.
#2. Move mouse cursor to an active hand slot, run #3.
#3. Press left mouse button, run #4;
#4. Moving mouse cursor on rocks, run #5;
#5. Press left mouse button, run #6;
#6. Alt+tab, run #7;
#7. Wait 6 minutes, watch youtube, post on forum, make selfperfection, make homework, play with children, play with a dog, play a with girl, go to street and kill someone, run #1.

That's how it working now. If you like it, then I'm really happy for you.

That's how it'll work:
1. Choose what you want to craft in fixboy.
2. Play FOnline and be happy.
3. When all requirements are completed (see below all explanation and CD and XP), you can craft your item in any workbrench/machine/workbrench with additional tools and start to craft something else.

No, you'll not simply WAIT and get items from air. As you can see to craft Minigun you need to get 3k XP, for every 100 5mm AP - 420 XP, so you need to do something. I hope they will make alot quests, because the only source for XP except for crafting is killing mobs now. But that's silly, it's like stupid MMORPGs which are RPGs only because you have items and kind of characters there, but really it's Arcade with RPG elements. Yes, it's only Beta, etc. So we'll see what they will do with RPG part.

Ah, and why I named this topic "Crafting system! Yeah, crafting system", because gathering is a part of this too, of couse this suggestion covers mostly gathering than craft, but it's almost the same. I can rename it to "How to make FOnline active game, not browser-like game", but I have to remember pass for an old acc on forum, because UbiValkin is a test name really, and I didn't know I'll play this game so much time.

The last sentence: you'll play FOnline active, not passive.

As you can see everything is logically, THE ONLY thing which will be changed is from passive to active NOTHING more, I tryed to not touch anything else, except for forcing players to play this game.

Yeah those were the days, days of repetitive strain injury in forefinger. Those were also the days of "shops being full of crap".

I'm new so my thoughts may not be as welcome as older players cause I didn't know what it was like. But it is a major turn off for me (From the game)
to have to go afk and go back and forth just because I want to make some energy cell ammo. 

But If I'm crafting a weapon or something I can't go kill mobs waiting for my  gathering CD to be over. I'll die because I'm trying to make ammo or a weapon SO I can kill stuff. Then I get shot by someone who feels like an internet badass for killing the bluesuit who almost had their laser pistol done.

Just another reason for devs to ditch their cooldown fetish. And why wouldnt your feedback as a new player matter? gotta have new players! ;)

To get 10mm Pistol and 10mm bullets you need to kill only few scorpions for XP (you can do it with your bare hands if your CH=1, or just go to Boneyard and get free 10mm pistol and some ammo, or complete mordino quest for shotgun, or complete Wright family quest for mauser), and then wait (not so much time... for low grade weapon/ammo), or continue your adventures, and then get your item, so easy.

You don't like crafting? Don't like waiting? There is easy solution. Don't craft at all. Your idea is very close to remove whole crafting from game.
