Brahmin Skinning and more consumables
« on: March 31, 2012, 10:03:21 am »

I was thinking that you know when you kill a brahmin her pelt just spawns in her inventory when you kill her. Well that's not realistic atall if you ask me. I belive that to be able to obtain the brahmin hide you need a knife in order to skin her and also when using a knife you could also obtain meat and then use the campfire that tents now have to get food, like stake which could increase the player health a bit. Could serve like a lesser healing powder or something. It would be very nice if it could be done, it would give more life to the game and make interesting.

EDIT: You could also be able to use the meat to heal dogs or just feed them, or use it to turn the dogs in the encounters freindly and then  act like the ones you buy from NPC's. Could be a roleplay thing too if you wish :D

You mean like the same meat slices that you get when you use a knife on a butcher table? Not a bad idea - i like it. So to gather cow hides, you have to bring a knife and you also get a load of meat too.

Maybe also adding regular knife doing a lower amount than a combat knife due to fucking up the meat as you cut it with a knife that isn't very sharp.

Just thought about outdoorsman also playing a role (if you have low outdoorsman chances are you will fuck up and cut the bladder or something else and ruin the meat)

Yeah, have always been a little confused why it takes a knife to harvest fibers, but not to skin an animal. Probably a fair point.
And I definitely would like to see something other than a meager cap source come out of the cow butchering thing the Devs kindly added.

It used to be used to craft Buffout last wipe.  So it wasn't always useless.  It would be cool if eventually there was another use for it though.

It's not very realistic at all to have charisma requirement to own a Brahmin if you ask me. ::)

Because this game is a simulator and everything needs to be realistic. Nevertheless I think Brahmins should drop meat like they used to.

If you had to cook it first using the fire at your tent it would make sense. To me anyway.
