Well, there's the first Far Cry games. Or at least... I know some of them had really scary zombie like shit in it/them. Can't remember which one or what though, so long ago...Of course i'm talking about the ones before the Far Cry 2.
Farcry had mutant ape men with rocket launchers, no zombies in any of the farcry games.

Negative, drug injected mutant monkeys running out of the bushes on a moonlit beach screaming are for more dangerous and frightening. It's not a zombie apocalypse game if it contains neither zombies nor apocalypse.
Rocket launcher apes were at the end, it was a hard game many people didn't get that far.
