alright, my initial critique of Fot (for anyone that cares, probably not too many...). I and a friend have had the opportunity to play FoT for 2 or 3 days, managed to grind up to level 11 or 12. For my I think this game has alot of "potential", but as of yet hasn't been realized. FoT is a work in development and it shows, most things are in russian. The barter system as far as im concerned is broken like 2238, there's nothing noteworthy to buy or sell. 99% of npc's either don't do anything or is in russian so i couldn't tell you. World feels static like made out of cardboard, very superfiscial. There isn't as much as I can see and gathering, crafting or questing. The real time PvE combat is similiar to 2238 just in slow mo. Most critters seem properly balanced, for combat, then you encounter raiders and get your ass handed to you. Not really a complaint as the over all "harshness" level of FoT is considerably less than 2238. One gripe of potential interest, the town control is basically a capture the flag metaphor, literally (so i guess it's not really a metaphor), which is fine and dandy. If you log out in a controlled town then control changes, when you log back in you will be immediately shot. How to "fix" that? Well I guess don't log out in TC towns or perhaps just don't allow people to log out in TC towns, idk. Anyways I will give FoT another shot, but right now it seems well, rather half baked.
