Post wipe luck
« on: March 11, 2012, 09:49:46 am »

I'm wondering what people are thinking about luck and the newer perk requirements. im thinking there will be a couple different ways of thinking here.

1.Just set luck to 1 or 10
2.Maybe i can set luck to 5 and take some crit perks and still get 20% criticals (on paper)

The second being maybe for BG builds or something like that but what about perks like right between the eyes and spray and pray? i'd love to know how these are affecting builds if anyone has tested these things.

So just a thought I figured others might be wondering the same things.

Luck 1 means, that you (as a bg for example) suffer for bypasses. But still, max hp 1lk char is pretty decent.
There are few SPECIAL points left for BGs, so maybe someone should try 2 or 3 lk build, and check the difference (or maybe done it and be so kind to tell us the results).

Tested it makes no difference. Best to just take anti-cripple, anti-knock down perks.

On paper, 5 LK vs 10 LK is just a 5% difference in critical chance. Not much, and costs a lot of points which could be used for PE or EN.

if i need critical i put full luck, the same with lockpiker. In my opinion if u make a char, do him best in one thing not just good in two. If i make a crafter i dont use a luck, but a power build for crits need it full. U can always make a power build with brd and mbrd, and set luck on 1. Just start to use more chars, in this sesion u can use fast relog;)

Depends if you aim in body parts.
Example, eyes, 5LK is 48%, 10LK is 60%, it's 12% difference.
It's been said that it also modifies critical tables, higher luck = less bypasses etc.

RBtE only for snipers, SaP - for BG build if you aim for criticals.

So aimed shots get a bonus based on LK as well? That's interesting.

As for creating characters for only 1 thing. That is stupid and boring. Yes, I want a gun, let's relog to CrafterAlt and make a gun. I need to transport the gun, I log in to TaxiAlt. Then I forget ammo, so I just go buy it with BarterAlt, then TaxiAlt again. And finally I log back into ShooterAlt to kill some molerats. Great gameplay.

Thanks for sharing that info.

And answering - yes, high LK means greater bonus for critical chance in eyes, than torso. Thats why, you can try burst critical build, without high(est) luck. For snipers, its always simple 10lk.

What I mean is there is no difference from 1 luck to 3 luck as far as bypasses done to your character its pretty much the same.

Same thing with 10 luck, do not expect to have an anti-bypass build with 10 luck as well, its best to take perks.
