Question about "better critz" perk
« on: February 17, 2012, 07:16:06 pm »

Does "better criticals" perk work also with unarmed\melee criticals...?
(Ye.. I know this question is ridiculous a bit, but I can't find any answers 4 it).

Where did you come by that information Killy? As it say's it only works with ranged weapons (I probably had the same idea awhile ago about thinking of making a HtH build with both better crit perks until I saw it only works with ranged weapons)

An extract from Level Perks:

Quote
Better Critical
  • Ranks: 1
  • Generic requirements: Level at least 12, Small Guns, Big Guns, Energy Weapons or Throwing at least 175
  • Description: The critical hits you cause in ranged combat are more devastating. You gain a +20 bonus on the critical hit table, almost ensuring that more damage will be done. This does not affect the chance to cause a critical hit.

So, there is a "ranged combat" phrase and no melee weapons/unarmed among generic requirements. Either the description is wrong or it doesn't work with these.
This one looks like an alternative to me, but the description is not clear-cut enough for me. :)
Quote
HtH Criticals
  • Ranks: 1
  • Generic requirements: Level at least 15, Unarmed or Melee Weapons at least 175
  • Description: You are much more likely to cause a critical hit, but only when using Hand to Hand or Melee.
I admit, that I have not checked it out myself, but would like to know accurately as well.

Better Crits was changed with the wipe.  It doesn't for for H2H, but that HtH Criticals perk is what you'd substitute it with.  It's not the same, of course, it doesn't make your crits better, but I guess you cause more.  I have a build with it and it does seem like he does more crits than with just the Bonus HtH Damage +.

Actually, the description isn't great. The HTH version is the same as normal better crits, but +25 on the table instead of +20

Then it can work together on +45 ?

Regular better criticals should only work for ranged weapons (otherwise TROLLOLOL insta death every 4-5 hits from a HtH crit build)

Yet to find any info if more crit/even more crit works with HtH/Melee though

I'm afraid not. This combo could make h2h/melee fighters too powerful (op like hell).

Bonus HtH Damage+ gives +15% crit chance.  That's the unarmed/melee version.

More and even more crtiz perks work also with unarmed/melee. Which means h2h fighters can have... 50% of crit-chance (or even more, if you are unarmed one).

That's usseles for them. They would have to low hp to be a proper match in a fight with all those perks.

I agree with ya. It is definitely usless 4 em. Anyway one day AC cap will be removed...
Then playin' as a "h2h tank" will be much less interesting option.

The critical perks are for critical builds, those that aim in the body parts, so when aiming in the eyes a HtH fighter has (60(eyes)+10(luck)+15(bonus hth damage+)+15(haymaker))%=100% crit chance, and with the cap it's actually 95%. 85% when using Power Fist(no haymaker).

50% crit chance with unaimed attacks with both Better Criticals and HtH Criticals plus Heavy Handed? That would be a disaster!
